Before starting on the food let me tell you about the resortIt’s amazing and it’s only 250 bucks so completely affordableNow the restaurant and bar is inside the area and it’s a calm and serene placeThe whole place is kind of small but niceWe ordered chicken chettinad and butter chicken with some naan and chicken fried riceThe food was good but it kind of lacked certain flavours and the naan was a little rubbery but the fried rice was quite deliciousLater we ordered a chicken biriyani and it was the perfect tomato riceExactly tasted like chicken in tomato rice and that disappointed is quite badlyBut a must visit place just for the scenery and the calmness ensured with it

One of best things about touring a new place is the opportunity to taste the local flavors and styles. And in this regard we often let go of our comfort zone in order to satiate the foodie in us. While most encounters leave us with a happy tummy and light heart, some not so great ones end up burning both, just like in my experience here. So, I visited this place with family for lunch after an exhausting day out in the sun touring the monuments. Needless to say we were also very hungry. What did us in were the words ‘beach resort’. Being ardent beach fans we didn’t give a second thought before trooping right in.The resort premises is tastefully done with the reception lobby leading to the rooms, restaurant, swimming pool, souvenir shop among others. And up ahead the beckoning beach. So far so good. It all began with the restaurant. For starters there were only two other tables occupied when we arrived. There’s nothing wrong with that except that you expect slightly more crowd on weekends. As we were waiting to be settled into our seats, we asked the lone attender present there to switch on the fans. Too bad he was more interested clicking pics for the guests at another table. Once we finally settled in, the water came in. We opted for their water jug which they duly brought to fill up the glasses but took back in. So once the first round of water was down, we had to remind them 2 to 3 times to get refills. Now coming to the food. The restaurant has on offer north Indian, south Indian and continental. We decided to stick to the usual roti ,rice and gravy combo as one can’t go wrong there. What we ordered: Veg pulao, paneer pulao, paneer butter Masala, aloo jeera and roti. The veg pulao and paneer pulao were good, tasted well. Only issue I had was that I would have liked the grains a bit more separated. The paneer butter Masala was just fine, even tasting a little sweet which I did not like. The aloo jeera seemed like a south Indian version but tasted fine.We found the place to be slightly pricey for the portion size and the quality of service. The reason given by the staff for their slow service was the huge amount of room service orders that they have to cater to. That is very understandable but a little more enthusiasm and keenness on their part is very much needed. At least when it comes to settling in customers and serving water.

Just like that we went to this resort on the way to mahabalipuram for dinner . It’s too lonely fortunately that suaits us on that night . Food average in compare to prices. Ginger chicken and grilled fish one of the pick up ones . Ambience not up to level. Very small restaurant . We there at night so we went for moonlight dinner but I think there is nothing good there if someone will be there for Lunch. About resort facility I can see very small and that to be not so clean pool was there not a good resort for a day out . On and all for dinner it’s average not for stay !

If you ask me to describe the food here in one word, I would say – PATHETIC (in caps and bold and the biggest font possible). We stayed in Golden Sun for a weekend. The renovated cottages are very beautiful and perfect for families since they are interconnected. Other rooms too are good. Now coming to the restaurant, they have an indoor and an outdoor seating. The indoor is very stinky. Outdoor is basically for their buffet which is again, Worthless! For dinner, we just gave a glace at the items in their buffet which is priced at 600+tax and decided to go with ala carte. Our orders:- Hot and sour Veg soup (1 by 2) – It looked fine but it was wayyyy too spicy. We were 4 and we still couldn’t finish one soup. – A portion of french fries – You cannot go wrong with this, can you? Even they dint. It tasted as it should.- Egg noodles – Decent.- Mixed fried rice – Had a dominant taste of seafood. People who like seafood might like it.- Kadhai Chicken – Passable.- American NV choupsey – Before ordering this, we asked if the quantity is okay for just one or two can share it, we were told it’s okay for one. It was HUGE in quantity, red in color, horrible in taste. 3 normal eaters can easily share it. Biggest disappointment. We were billed 1230 with a bottle of water and including tax.Since this resort is in a deserted area and we did not have a car, we were left with no choice but have our following day breakfast also here. When we inquired about breakfast after we had dinner. we were told that there would be a breakfast buffet at 175+tax or we can also order ala carte. Oh yes, BREAKFAST IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE STAY. SO RIDICULOUS.When we arrived for the breakfast we were told only buffet is available. And the buffet had nothing apart from South Indian food – idly, pongal, poori, aloo sabji, sambar, vada, chutney and tea/coffee. THAT’s ALL. Not even dosa was there. No juice, no bread toast, no eggs. We ordered two omlettes separately – plain priced at 70 and cheese priced at 100. The breakfast was just okay. OVER-PRICED. We spent 932 bucks for the most shitty breakfast in a resort I’ve stayed so far.Service is way too slow. You need to remind them atleast of three times and only then you’ll see your food arriving to your table.Definitely not worth anything. AVOID this restaurant and the resort. MOST DISAPPOINTING STAY EVER! If only Zomato had negative ratings! meethichhuri.wordpress.com

Went there for Sunday lunch time with family, Worst customer service, even water is not served properly. Not ideal for family, might be OK for group of friends looking for booze and beach
