Food:We went for a fried rice, biryani and tandoori. The biryani was good while the chicken fried rice was not completely satisfactory. The quantity provided was good while the sides were on the mark. Tandoori wasn’t spicy and overall it was alright.Ambience:Good place for biryani lovers. When the food is good, there’s not much to complain about the place. Parking would be hard with the shop right on the main road.Price:Definitely cheaper than most places.

We ordered butter chicken and naan. Specially asked to not make it chilli. There were copious amounts of green chillies. And it was filled with masala. Nothing resembling any sort of butter chicken. When complained, the staff was extremely rude. Terrible food. Terrible service. Huge mistake i visited the place.

Biriyani outlets like these mushroomed suddenly all over Tamil Nadu in the name of Thalappakattu Biriyani some 6-7 years back following the popularity of Dindigal Thalapakatti Biriyani. Then when the issue of trademark rose and matter went to court these outlets started to change their names in various ways, Rawther Thalapakattu is one such. A close variant of this is Chennai Rawther and Chennai Rawther Thalappakattu. Any how coming to this place, I went there with my friend and we were pleasantly surprised by the taste of the Briyani on offer. It was very tasty, the spice evenly blended with the rice and seeped nicely into the chicken pieces. The chicken pieces were very well cooked and they were so soft that we don;t have to use our jaws that much. It was adequately spiced and the aroma and taste complimenting each other. However the pieces were not that great in terms of quantity of flesh. They served two pieces, both with minimal flesh only. There was one egg buried inside the biriyani too. As far as Biriyani is concerned there isn’t much to complain about other then the above couple of glitches. But when you visit here I recommend you stick just to Biriyani. We ordered Chicken 65 boneless, which was very salty, not properly cooked and one of the worst Chicken 65 i have ever tasted. Chicken briyani costs just Rs110. Ambiance is not that good. It is better to opt for takeaway. When we sent for lunch there was no power and they don;t have any power backup. When we completed we were totally drenched in sweat. srirelishes.blogspot.com
