This has been a recent favourite outlet for me to gorge on some delightful Maharashtrian snacks. It’s perched in the newly sprung up OMR food street in Perungudi. MGR Salai is an area where hoards of employees work and to be frank there aren’t many options for good evening snacks barring the usual bhajji’s, samosas and tea served by road side vendors. This joint comes as a welcome change as they dish out lots of really interesting stuff.The Vada pav is quite authentic with the pav bun being daringly different in taste and spread judiciously with chilli powder. The aloo vada which it comes along is jumbo in size containing the essential potato ingredients with the rightful texture. I also thoroughly enjoyed their Sabudana vada which comes along with a curd chutney and also their samosas are really filling and tasty. The Misal Pav was another major winner and I thoroughly enjoyed slurping this crumbly gravy with those softish pavs. For the sweet aficionados, you have Bun Maska with jam which again doubles up as a great snack to have with your tea. The tea which they serve is also full of flavour and really soothing and comes in handy especially on those hot summer afternoons.I’ve virtually tried a number of items from this newly opened store and still to try more. They have also now started breakfast where they serve stuff like poha and the like. For lunch also, they have good combo deals with rice and rotiAnother plus point is the rates as they are quite reasonable and more importantly offer a value for the amount spent. The staff is very friendly and always game to hear feedback.This has been a great new find for me and I will definitely continue to be coming here to try more and more of the delectable offerings that the state of Maharashtra has to offer.
