I ply my trade on this very corridor, so I visit the omr food street almost everyday to grab something. Kanji kadai always caught my attention for its decorative setup and decent crowds, but never thought of visiting until today. We went with zero expectations; only wanted to finish our dinner somewhere. They make traditional kerala based cuisines with a limited menu. Rice and chappatis are the main variants We had chicken biriyani, ghee rice, kondakadalai curry and chappatis for dinner. Folks who had the chicken biriyani found it was balanced and good. I thought the ghee rice was a little bland, could’ve made it flavoursome. I felt the curry was nice. Further, the portions were stomach filling. Loved that they serve hot food in traditional claypots with banana leaves. The value for money is definitely satisfying from a customer perspective. It’s worth visiting again.
