One stop destination to sooth your taste buds craving for delicious home made parathas. Located inside a home, this place serves Aloo, Paneer and Gobhi parathas alongwith raita and chutney. The preparation takes a while as the complete order is served at once, but rest assured, it is worth the wait.Last time I checked, aloo paratha costs 40 bucks, paneer – 50 bucks and Gobhi – 50/60 bucks. Will update the pricing on next visit.
Hidden in the street, this place is a paradise for any northie craving for some homely paranthas.Prepared and managed solely by a retired couple, the joint’s dining place is their dining hall.Service might be slow, but they are definitely worth the wait.Mainly 4 types of paranthas are served, but being sweet and homely they’ll happily make you any other paranthas you want.Served with grated onion mixed with curd and pickle, they’ll leave you craving for some more space in your stomach.Kudos!
Wandering for food on the roads literally ,on an evening when mess food sucked is how I landed upon this place! I am not kidding! This place is hidden in the residential zone and is more like a mess not a polished outlet. However the owner was very sweet and welcomed with a smile .We had two aloo parathas, onion paratha and Gobi paratha. They also have phulka and their daily side curry. Alongside the paratha raitha and some sort of tomato chutney is served. The tomato chutney was way too salty and so was their Gobi paratha. The aloo paratha was top notch . Its a good place to gonif you are in the neighbourhood and are hunting for ghar ka khana. This kinda gives that homely vibes but taste wise I would not have anything other than the aloo parathas here. mishtimoi.wordpress.com
What can few retired individuals do to make quick money? Start selling awesome parathas! A good catch for someone who is fed up of boring hostel mess food. It is just a house’s dining hall where parathas are also served for visitors! And the service time is too long. So be prepared to wait for a while. But the home-made touch in the parathas is worth the wait! The have only 4 types of parathas- Aloo Paratha (₹30), Gobi Paratha (₹40), Paneer Paratha (₹50) and Onion Paratha (₹50). Tried all 4. Paneer Paratha is the pick of the lot with good tasting paneer mixed with spicy onions as the stuffings. Followed by onion paratha which was spicy and delicious.Dhahi was freshly made with Coreander leaves mix. Kuruma was also okay!Felt the quantity (size of parathas) to be a bit less. Otherwise, this place can count on me as its potential regular customer!
This place is located right outside tharamani IITM gate and is the one stop shop for all paratha craving insti junta. It is actually a house whose ground floor is the dining area and the first floor is the kitchen. Although the place looks cramped up from the outside, it is well maintained. Initially they used to sell only aloo paratha. Now they have introduced paneer, gobi and onion parathas as well. I tried paneer and gobi parathas and both were good. The parathas when dipped in dahi/onion raita, tasted so well. I finished up all the dahi remaining in the vessel and asked for more.Total cost for 2 paneer and 2 gobi parathas came to 180 rupees. Very reasonable prices for this good quality food.Ambiance-2/5Food quality-4/5Bang for buck-4/5Seat availability, hospitality and others -4/5
This place has the best parathas in town. If you are hungry for parathas, go here. Good homely food craving satisfied. Paneer parathas are the best!
I pity myself for finding out about this place so late. It is super close to tharamani gate of IITM and do not expect anything for ambience and location. It’s a small time place just for you to savour the North Indian delicacy of various parathas. I heard the food is prepared by the mother of one of Iitm profs, so you can expect homely food with no fancy dressing up and menu cards. They serve three types of parathas, that’s about it. Coming to food, there is no other word which comes to my mind, apart from – they are perfect! Just the way you like it at home. Gobi paratha is crisp, aloo has the best filling and paneer is as rich as it should taste. They serve it with raita and a chutney worth killing for. Serving takes a little time as they do it all together and not in series. Nonetheless, that time can be well spent on chit chatting with friends. This place has become must visit for me every week.
