On a short visit to Trichy, I ended up visiting the iconic RockFort temple! Just a few steps outside the temple, you can find Vasantha Bhavan selling madurai’s authentic Jigarthanda.A really popular dessert/drink in Tamil Nadu with origins from Madurai, this one is made with milk, icecream, tree gum and some other material.Having heard a lot about it, I wanted to give it a shot. At Rs.30, JigarThanda which literally translates to CoolHeart has a lot included. The version we tried had almond gum milk and kulfi icecream. If was cold, refreshing yet different than what we have tried so far. Will remind you of faluda while having but still has a distinct character of its own.Do try it at this shop in trichy or any roadside stall when visiting Tamil Nadu.
