Saturday, August 18, 2018: Another hungry night in Ooty. Found this place serving non-veg food items. Saw a MacBook on the reception table. Ordered their speciality – Murg Mussallam. Good taste, but a little bit spicy for me. Service can be made fast. Ambience is average.
Not so friendly environment, food was not good and the place was so much crowded and unmanaged. They get the guests but has no proper arrangements or waiting area. Food presentation and quality was below average.
Ooty is definitely a place to go with low expectations in terms of food. Luckily this time we had a good experience. Madras Rasoi is a somewhat new outlet – cosy and packed. We had Malabar chicken curry with Kerala parotas. Was tasty. The default chicken biryani we were expecting was the Thalassery style Malabar Biryani as quite a few of the eateries here serve Malabar food. But what we were served was a bit dry Andhra style Biryani though the taste was okayish. Chicken pieces were ok too. The accompaniments were raita and some strange fishy salan. They did give us another big bowl of different gravy on request. Don’t know about desserts but we washed the food down with lots of ice-cream (Kwality walls).Service is quick and to the point. They give you a clear picture of the time it would take to serve the food. Good for a quick lunch.
worst experience ever. Not even worth 1 star. Waiter was extremly impolite and over sold the food which was pathetic. Food was extremly oily and one gravy for every thing.
Have packing space and wash room, nice ambience, food is not great. It’s same rice either you order veg pulao or mutton biryani, same with gravy standard onion gravy for all preparations. Serving time is too much. Order all items initially itself coz running order they will serve along with bill.
