926, A part of Abu Sarovar portico located on PH road – Egmore. Went here for Independence day special buffet (yes, uploading it after a month!!) for a get together. The restaurant has decent lighting all over .It was a pretty good ambience I would say and I’m sure you will have a pleasant experience here with mild music playing at the background. They had a wide variety of veg dishes in their buffet spread including pulao, roti, naan , paneer tikka , dhal makhani , pasta, paneer masala, okra fry, papad, etc.., out of which the pulao and paneer masala and curd rice were good.Coming to the Non.-veg they have a quite few items in their spread like mutton biriyani (meat was well cooked and biriyani was quite rich in flavor) fish tikka, chicken gravy and roasted chicken. Fish tikka was the best of the bunch it was soft and tasted absolutely delicious.Desserts : just like the other two spreads there were plenty of desserts especially indian ones and it tasted average. Not much to rave about.Overall if u want to have a different buffet experience other than the normal ones do visit 926 once.

Went here for a lunch buffet, decent ambience and very average service.Starting off with the spread, it is a huge one. There is welcome drink (juice & milkshake), salads, pasta, starters (including a live counter for fried okra and chicken), massive spread of main course and a mini dessert list of cake, tart, Indian sweets and abundant fresh fruits. There were a few set backs with food, paneer tasted like it was rotten, tart tasted of raw egg, fish starter was a bit oily, chicken fry from live counter lacked flavor of spices, it made my experience a bit more sad because they did not have ketchup. The good & decent ones from the buffet was the strawberry milkshake for the day in the welcome drink, so was salads, a couple of gravies in the main course and fresh fruits from dessert section.Ambience – 3/5Service – 2.5/5Taste – 2.5/5Quantity – 2.5/5Quantity – 3/5 (because one or two dishes were not refilled)Overall – 3/5Would rate 2.5 but zomato does not have the option anymore

Planning for buffet??926 can be one option.Went there on Independence day for lunch. The starters as per preference vegetarian or non vegetarian were gracefully served on table. Soft music will always be there making your meal time more interesting.Varieties of desserts like cake, ladoos, tarts, pudding, milkshakes, coconut sweet, ice cream etc. However, for me the show stopper remains the mutton biryani. The mutton pieces were extremely soft rice blended well. But rest items I didn’t enjoy personally despite of being hot and fresh.Ambience was ok with soft music behind. The hotel has a valet parking so no need to worry about your vehicles. The waiters were very helpful, jolly, guided us well through the names of dishes.Follow Epicure16 on Instagram for more such honest reviews and photos of places

Abu Sarovar Portico (926 restaurant)A restaurant with good buffer spreads. Persons who are bored regular buffet places can surely try this once.I went to this place for a lunch buffet with my friends..the place ambiance was quiet simple and decent restaurant set-up.Starting with the double choice drinks like strawberry milkshake and mango delight. Then i tried Vegetarian dishes like hot and sour veg soup, murungakai urulai masala, pasta tomato creamy sauce, baked vegetables, okra fritters, dhai vada, dhal makhani, Hyderabadi subzi, aloo mutter, paneer tikka, gobi Manchurian , veg pulao, basmati rice, rasam, roti, naan, papads and curd rice. my favorite part is the gobi manchurian and okra fritters in vegComing to the Non-vegetarian dishes i tried cock a leek soup, Mutton biryani , fish in bell pepper , chicken varutha curry , ajwain fish , and spicy fried chicken. I really loved the ajwain fish and chicken varutha curry other than that all other dishes tasted just okay. For desserts i tried lemon cream tart, cream puff swan, moti laddu, moong dal halwa, rainbow swiss rolls, malai sandwich, ice creams and fruits like watermelon and pineapple. My overall experience was good , the dishes i had was worth for money but when coming to the taste i am not fully satisfied the restaurant should really work on the dishes to improve in their taste. I would like to give 3/5 for this restaurant.Follow my insta page The Food Panther for mouth drolling food updates.#thefoodpanther #foodblogger

I visited their restaurant close to lobby. Service took a long time and food was very spicy. No bottled water available and I was told ‘out of stock’. Worst still, saw a cockroach on the table while we were having lunch. Not sure whether it came out of a dish or from elsewhere. The hand towels were smelly. Very badly maintained restaurant and quality of staff leave a lot to desire. Very bad experience. Watch out for insects on the table when you visit this restaurant. Wanted to meet their GM to give my feedback. I was asked to wait for 20 minutes, but he never turned up. So much for customer service.

We went for buffet dinner. I have been to this place when I was in school days and had a good experience with my daughter this time. They have wide varieties in their buffet spread . I tasted only non vegetarian dishes like chicken Briyani, mutton pepper masala, chicken manchow soup, chilli chicken and Ajwani fish . Briyani was awesome with soft chicken pieces and combination of ingredients also great . I felt so good after eating mutton pepper masala as I had slight cold. Love the soft texture of chilli chicken and Ajwani fish . They have wide varieties of salads and desserts too. Tasted rasmalai, dry jamun, cottage cheese struddle and sabudhana kheer . It was yummy yummy. Had dahi vada , strawberry milk shake and ice cream.. Can’t ask for more .. my tummy became happy and full
