Went to Meenam’s for a family dinner on a Saturday evening fix of south Indian food. This outlet is located on the second floor of the Harrisons hotel just opposite to Dynasty. The restaurant is very dimly lit and the ambience is good until you decide to want to take pictures in natural light. The food is a delight. Nothing spectacular, good old tested recipes but at a premium price. Quantity is ok and you may want to order a round for each person than hoping to share one or two dishes. We shared a couple of Chicken Chettinad Soups, Mutton Pepper Fry, Karuvepali Yera and Fish Tikka and for mains we took White Steamed Rice and Meenam Meen Kozhambu. The food is on the spicier side so be cautious! Order a couple of Lime Mint Sodas to see you thru it. For the dishes we ordered we racked up a bill of ~3500₹ which is slightly pricey. But, its still a good place for decent south Indian fare!Best, the Wandering Epicurean
Good place for non vegetarians lovers to try. Though veg food like aloo tikka, kaikari chettinad and other items would be amazing here, it looks bit odd to eat veg when others end up eating all sort of non veg items and with strong flavours would tempt you to try.Highlights are Mutton pepper fry, Reshmi kebab, Karuvepilai yera, Vartha curry, Brain masala (my friends loved it).
Last time food was too good, but this time food is pathetic, they couldnt maintain the taste. I will never ever order the food.
Try out this Restaurant for great fish curry. The Restaurant ambience is great and the service is good. The Restaurant is centrally located. A must try Restaurant. You also avail discounts with Zero Cards!
I had heard a lot about Meenam and many friends swear by it.My first visit here and I was looking forward to trying out all the dishes I had heard of.Warm ambience and superlative service. The staff is alert and warm and non intrusive. While the spring rolls and out Parota were delicious, I was crestfallen at the taste of their famous Fish Kebabs. The Chettinad Curry had an overbearing taste of Masalas and the Caramel Custard was too ‘eggy’.Slightly disappointed by my first visit. Hope to change my mind on the next one.
Went to this place for lunch. Like this restaurant because it has a very 90’s feel to it. The waiters were all older and looks like they have been there for years.Ordered cheese omelettes, Mutton meal, Roti and Veg korma. Heard from my colleague that mutton was excellent and lot of meat. The roti and side dish were good. The restaurant was deserted inspite of it, they forgot to place the mutton meal order. Overall taste is good
As the name suggest the place is very much famous for the fish and non veg dishes. The ambience is very calm and with dim light setting. Very pleasant. Food tatse good. Nice service as well.
