Very low key restaurant inside the KTDC hotel on Greams Road; they don’t advertise and you can hardly notice the board from the road. We heard about it on a visit to Alleppey, from a guy who had worked here earlier and who told us that there was an authentic Kerala Restaurant on the premises. They serve a vegetarian buffet , which includes all the elements of a sadya. They also have a fairly elaborate ala carte menu. with enough vegetarian, meat and sea food options . My wife decided to have the buffet while I opted for Kerala Paratha with Beef roast. Not the absolutely the best Kerala meal that we have ever had but really, really good food. The service was quite efficient, except, in true Kerala public sector fashion, smiles were not much in evidence ! However, the young man who served us, was polite and efficient and, unlike his colleagues, he did smile. The decor is simple and the restaurant is spacious, clean and neat. There is plenty of parking.I would strongly recommend this place for families who want to have good Kerala food in a clean and peaceful atmosphere without straining the wallet..
Food quality is poor. Taste is bad. The comment isn’t good at all. The ambience is okay. The service people are okay. The buffet considering the quality and content is overpriced
We had a sumptuous Ona Sadya last week. The spread covered all dishes on the Sadya and each item out tasted the other on the menu. The lunch was a buffet but the refills kept coming in. Best sadya we’ve had in a while!
Went here for a lunch with colleagues. I must confess that their veg buffet (Kerala style) is definitely the best in town for the money they charge. Excellent spread and taste if you are fond of Kerala style food. Also ordered a couple of other dishes from the ala carte menu, which turned out to be good as well. This place is not visible at first sight, because of trees and their lackluster sign board. It is in the KTDC building complex, on the corner while entering the Apollo Hospital Lane, on Greams Road. Will surely visit again.
We were here for lunch !! A typical kerala sadya at a mere 170 bucks. It was a buffet spread !! I must say finger licking good food for a worthy price ! 🙂 This is a three star hotel pretty close to US consulate in chennai.
Went with high expectations but turned out to be just an average place when it comes to food. Had their Kerala specialities like Kerala chicken curry, chicken 65, ghee rice(nei choru), porotta etc and noted that everything is lacking the right flavours.Salt was less in everything but that’s is understandable as it can be added while eating. Spices and masalas can’t be added like that. Vegetable stew was appealing but the coconut milk tasted stale. The place is quiet, spacious and clean. Service is good and wish food also is at par.
