They serve the best black dal in all of Chennai. The ambience is perfect, the staff is polite and the music is soothing. The a la carte menu and the ₹999 fixed menu are both equally good. The quality of food is unmatched and the starters are just yum.
What we had -cream of chicken and mushroom soup ,fish tikka ,prawn tikka ,lamb leg ,murgh malai tikka ,butter naan and butter chicken masala .The cream of chicken and mushroom were good .both were perfectly made .most of the restaurants fail to get the cream soup right it would either have the milk flavour or would be too creamy but this was thin and had the rightful flavour .The Mahi tikka (fish ) and the tandoori jhinga (prawns ) were both tender and perfectly cooked .the murgh malai tikka was amazing .its a must have !The lamb leg i personally didn’t like the flavour .The butter chicken and butter naan were really good.the butter naan was soft and the butter chicken was rich in flavour .a must have again !
Earthen Oven has that old world charm with some great Indian food collection. Situated on the first floor of the hotel, it is quite easy to locate. The restaurant is quite spacious and gives you a good space to converse with your partner on the opposite side without disturbing the others. This is my second visit here after the initial visit was less than satisfactory. A lot of items in the menu were not available which is quite amusing for a Friday night dinner. We ordered as followsJumbo Prawns: Quite tasty. But when turn cold, they taste rubbery. They might as well look for options to keep the food warm.Panneer: Was quite good and soft. More of the melt in the mouth kinds.Tandoori Fish: Since the fish was overcooked, it had a pungent charcoal burning smell which kind of spiled the taste. We had some rice and curry along with some desserts. Service was quite slow and the staff aren’t very attentive. Not an ITC experience for sure. The takeaway food was quite disappointing as food didn’t have the taste.
I was here a couple of months ago, but could just get to write this review. The food was pretty good and the menu was ITC’s standard – like the ones at Bukhara and Peshawri. I had no complaints about the quality of the food served or the service. But I was really let down by the ambience. The place was pretty much in shambles. The restaurant looked really uninspiring, rundown and seriously could do with a makeover.
Old School Charm Just Loved Everything About The Place The Food Was Exceptionality Fresh And The Attitude Of The Staff Was Exceptionality Warm Had A Great Great Evening Looking Forward For Many More Visits Keep Up The Great Work
What can I say about this place. I am in love with this place. The interior’s attract s you. ambiance is more then perfect. I love this place alot.
It was a TDH set menu at lunch when we visited. Two key misses were that service was painfully slow and the set menu didn’t have a shorba or soup.Otherwise the north Indian fare here pretty much hit the bullseye. Especially the starters. The kebaab platter was scrumptious. In desserts gulab jamun was also really delicious. If you crave for decent non veg north indian food , this is recommended once in a while.
