  Mallu good is known to fill both you tummy and heart with such great cooked food. I did my college here in Chennai and my search for authentic mallu food was always on a high radar. Either the food was good but overpriced or Vice versa, well until I stepped into Ikkakas; am not kidding, the place is very budget friendly, with an excellent staff and homely ambience.I don’t know how to convey it in words, but the food was pure bliss to the soul. And the chai, oh my God, the chai was to die for. -A must try dishes for me were:• Mutton samosa•Chemeen vatichedhe•karimeen polichedhe •malabar Porota•beef chili•kappa kandhari•Ikkakas chicken fryIf you’re visiting Ikkakas, make sure you buy and have the chai along with the food. You’ll thank me for it.

  The best place I have eaten Kerala food till now in Chennai, especially with the quantity worth the price. Mutton samosa was the best thing to start off the lunch followed by Chemmeen Vattichadhu and Pothu chilli which were very spicy and tasty. Kerala Parotta went well with Chemmeen Vattichadhu. Erachi Choru was different and nice. Do try their Eggless Tender coconut mousse to wrap up your meal.PS: Don’t forget to have their soulful chai along with the food.

  This place is simple, clean and gives you very good Kerala food. Worth for it’s pricing. They have valet parking service.Edachi Soru – I requested them to make it in chicken, and it turned out to be awesome. (4.8/5)Tender Coconut Mousse – Vera level – Do not leave the restaurant without trying this mousse!!! (5/5)Parotta – Soft and normal (3.8/5)Egg appam – Nice and soft (4/5)I’ll definitely visit this place again for it’s mousse and Erachi soru.

  This is a review for deliveryI was craving for some Mallu food and I saw that illakas was delivering to my location.I ended ordering their pothu choru- which was amazing, the beef was absolutely tender and the rice seasoned beautifully.Their crab olathiyathu- spicy juicy crab masala, this was everything I was craving for.Pothu chilli- this dish however was a bit of a disappointment, the meat wasn’t seasoned enough and was super chewy.But I would definitely order the other two dishes from here again
