Back in Chennai, Madera was my haunt. I like that it is a lounge, which translates to keeping annoying people far away from you. The music can get loud, but that can be overlooked. They had a brilliant list of cocktails to offer. What’s better? You can also get them as shots. The one with the curaçao is my poison. They have very good food as well. Their Jalapeno Cheese Poppers are brilliant. Their accompaniments—especially the salad with the amazing dip—are as great.There was this one time I also had a friend’s birthday celebrated here. They are very accommodating and also customize your drinks on request.If your idea of nightlife is to sit down and hang with friends, this is definitely worth a visit.
Sitting was not that great but that can be overlooked because of great food quality. Juices and fruits were good and fresh. Salads were of great quality and variety. They offered chicken salad, seafood salad, beef salad and pork salad. The lamb soup was a bit disappointing. Fried fish and roasted fish were very soft and tasted great. Mutton was average but the beef in the main course was again good. Also offered sev puri and papri chat which were good but the masala dosa was way below average. Deserts were also well spread and the best was the rasmalai. So if around this place demands atleast one visit.
This review is a combined opinion of madera bar and the other bar on terrace. Both places i found most of the beers on the menu not being available as mentioned.Also food options specially vegetarian were limited.Prices were on higher side.Service was so slow and unattentive that for everything i had to wave and shout. The bars dont have dedicated kitchen or even a pantry. The servers are to lazy to fetch just single starter from the other restaurant.My south indian style mushroom was loaded with so much pepper that my throat and stomach was burning to death. The stupid server instead of offering to change the dish suggested his unwanted opinion that all this pepper was good for my stomach and appetite. All it was good was to take away all or any High i got out of my two beers. Lolz
This visit was for a show by KunalRao. Happening comedian. A member of East India Comedy! The pub was very cozy and comfortable. Good seating arrangements and seat comfort. Menu almost covered all the drinks, with few classic ones! And the starters ahad all the basic ones. It was good in quantity and very well decorated on the plate. Good in quantity and good in taste!Overall, a good experience! And Oh boy. The show was killing! Watching out for more such shows here! 🙂
Visited the place late friday night around 11’ish to gulp down some drinks before calling it a day. The place was nice, with good decor and crowd was lesss, drowned in their talks and drinks. The music was great. The place only servers starters for food. They got beer pitcher(1000ml) for 800 which i found is worth it, compared to other pubs. The price range was suitable for a place located at Raintree.Good ambienece for all those people who wanna drink alone.
