Food is great. The price becomes very reasonable when you use zomato gold. The portions sizes are filling. The ambience is decent. The staff are amazing and take care of you very well ! Overall great experience !
Tasted the awesome bengali fare at Colony in Raintree hotel on.st Mary’s Road.It started with lip smacking starters which included mughlai parantha, phuchka, drums of heaven, gosht shammi kebab, kankrol chop and lot more. We were also served jhal muri which provided much solace to a nostalgic heart. The maincourse had doi potol, enchorer dalna, aam dal and sukto to kolkata mutton biriyani, chicken rezala, mutton chaap and Doi Rui. The dishes were authentic to the core and master crafted by Chef Tamaghna Chakraborty, who is that very much passionate about food. The desserts included Rosogulla, parisapta and misti doi. They are serving hilsa, tangra and other fishes too. The ambience is perfect. The bengali fare we enjoyed the dinner very much.
The things started off well. Nice decor and ambience. Warm staff. We chose to have a buffet.Food wise also soups and salads were good. Starters were mixed bag. Too oily, some of them. But main course was where it all went downhill. The range was limited. The food didn’t look appetizing. Most of the items were cold. And whatever we tried wasn’t that tasty. One chicken curry was looking good, but they took ages to bring the roti and curry went cold. Desserts range was also limited.Given the fact that they were charging 1650 rs all inclusive for buffet, and given their limited range, I rate them lower largely on value for money.
Had lunch here. Started with pumpkin carrot soup. Veg starter as cheese ball and mirrappagaya bhajji. Mains bisibelabath was excellent and vatthal kullambu. Rasam I got it seperate as requested. Jalfrrezi and paneer chew is good. Desserts nice. Suggetions are they can keep few more mains in veg section.
We went for a buffet dinner at colony raintree. They are so cozy and the spread is too much. They serve continental food and have a good spread .Their desserts were yum and a treat to your sweet tooth.Salads were very nice with the touch of the American sauces ! It was around 3000 for 2.
