Went here for late lunch and had a lot of expectations after seeing good review about the place. I won’t lie, my expectations weren’t met. The food was average. Most of the dishes that i wanted weren’t available at the time. The cheese corn balls didn’t have enough cheese and was mostly just flour with one(1) corn piece in each ball. One dish that managed to satisfy me was the dal makhani! The dish was very creamy and tasty.

The restaurant is situated in a busy road in Kodambakkam with limited scope for road side parking. It’s clean and order taking is quick / service is polite. Corn kennels fry and broccoli fry were too oily and not palatable beyond a point. Butter nan was real buttery and melted in the mouth. Gobi manchurian was a right combo with nan. Paneer butter masala – soft paneer with delicious and creamy paste was awesome. Overall, the starters were a let down.Main dishes were great.

Pahadi cuisine isn’t normally encountered in Chennai.Indus Kitchens specializes in that rare form of cooking and I happen to visit it for dinner last week.It is situated off the busy Kodambakam main road. There is parking for 2 wheelers and a valet service for cars.It is simply decorated with some prints adorning the walls and they do have a high , hygiene rating .Started off with the Corn n Cheese balls,Chilly Paneer ,Sizzling Malai Tikka and the Kaliompong Veg Nomos.Loved all the starters , especially the chilly paneerFor the mains,we ordered the Kashmiri Dum Pulao which was mildly spiced and fragrant. It went well with the Paneer Burji .We also ordered Masala Kulcha and Laccha parathas which tasted good with the Dal Chainse and the stuffed capsicum gravy. For dessert ,I ordered the Sizzling Brownie which gets extra brownie points for coming with 2 scoops of ice cream at top the brownie slice. All in all a wonderful meal with excellent service.

Pahadi or cuisine from the Garhwal region in Chennai is a rarity so when i came across Indus Kitchens specialising in just that ,went to try it out for dinner last night. It is situated off the busy Kodambakkam main road and as you walk down to the basement level it opens up to an airy and colorful space.Since iam not familiar with the specialities of this cuisine ,decided to order after recommendations given by the passionate owner Mr.Ganpathi who is determined to give the diners a great culinary experience.Started with Manchow Pahadi Style soup which had me stumped both in appearance and taste.Expecting a Chinese style preparation with fried noodles on top i found the greyish looking thin soup totally different. But the taste was really good and flavorful ,it is made with a special dal procured from the hills.Next came the starters – Kalimpong special momos,Sizzling Paneer Malai Tikka ,Corn Cheese Balls served with a green chutney and my favourite Chilly Paneer.Cubes of the softest paneer coated in a piquant sauce and stirfried with peppers and onions ,had me in raptures. The owner told me that the paneer was procured from Uttarakhand and this shows the quality of the produce used .For the main course we tried the Paneer Burji,Stuffed Capsicum which was panner and potato mixture stuffed in a capsicum and bathed in a delicious ,creamy gravy. This went so well with the Kulchas and Laccha Parathas which we ordered. From the Special Garhwal section we went for the Pahadi Dal Ka Chainse which was a creamy dal ( the same used as in the soup) preparation with a special kind of tempering with ghee which induces a fragrant aroma to the dish. The Kashmiri Pulao was another winner of a dish which went well with the Burji.Couldn’t resist trying the Thukpa which was a fiery soup with veggies and noodles, ideal to provide warmth. The sizzling brownie is a must try finale dish ,and it comes with house made brownie topped with 2 scoops of ice creamAll the dishes are made to order and this ensures the freshness of the food.Loved the smooth and friendly service provided by Mr.Siddarth and our first tryst with the cuisine of Garhwal was a grand success.

If you love good vegetarian food then this the place for you , not being biased but 100% honest because the its healthy and tasty which not many places achieve very easily. Everything from the breads , sizzlers , rice dishes are amazing to take bites from and leave you speechless. I had my great time with the momos which is made special by chefs and its mind blowing , which I would highly recommend to have a try. You must try their desserts , which is a must after every heavy meal ☺️. Definitely would recommend this to my vegetarian friends for a visit ❤️.
