Today I had purchased pickles meant for abroad and some for personal use.The pickle bottle meant for personal use was not sealed and was neither been informed to me,reaching home all the oil in that pickle had leaked and had spoiled the entire purchase. The staff there was behaving jus like bot not even a smile or helpful though feeling annoyed I purchased and to my dismay every thing was spoiled even the bill I kept with pickle. I called them to show my distress only to hear silence from the other end except saying this has not happened before.I wonder which pickle will not leaked if not properly sealed or packedFirst smile at customers or don’t work they are not coming to take things at free of costThree star is for the people who are preparing food and fir the staff it’s zero
Samskruthi Home food – KodambakkamFood and Flavour: 4/5Packaging: 4/5Value for Money: 4.5/5You get an array of Andhra cuisine based sweets, savouries, powders/podis, picked, pappads and they also got some sugar free sweets. Got to know about this place through my mom as I enquired from where she got the awesome Gongoora pickle and paruppu podi! They get the stuff from Andhra Pradesh. Have tried multiple stores for their authentic Andhra sides and this one is at the top! Gongoora pickle costs Rs.95 for 250 gms. It’s hot but not too spicy. Love the flavour! Sometimes have felt a slight lack of flavour, but mostly good. Paruppu podi/powder costs Rs.85 for 250 gms. That awesome garlic flavour rich podi you get as sides in Andhra cuisine based restaurants! So aromatic.Moar molaga/sun-dried seasoned chilli costs Rs.90 a pack. Salted to right amounts and hot/spicy! Packaging is neat. Courteous staff who answer the phone while placing orders. lol also found them well mannered when purchasing in person. Definitely going to try out their other menu listings!
The one-stop-shop destination for the best Paper sweets in Chennai ;)Its available in both jaggery as well as sugar.Jaggery is priced at 100 whereas the sugar one is available for 80The taste is just awesome.Rating based on just paper sweets, have not tried anything else
I’m a Keralite and I’ve been a die-hard fan of Samskruthi for a few years now. I would take back small packets of the food when I went home during college breaks and my family would demand more each time. Our favorites were Gonghura pickle, Avakaya pickle and pretty much every Podi. My friends and I survived on these Podis in college. The sweets are fresh and some of the best are Pootharekulu, Poli, Black Gram Laddu and Moti Chur Laddu. The place is small, hygienic, delicious and not to be missed 🙂
Heard they source fresh sweets and food items related to Andra cuisine. On my visit I purchased Jaggery pootharekulu(5 pcs for 100),garlic paruppu podi, hibiscus & nanaari syrup. The juice syrups were good no complaints. Pootharekulu was crisp and liked by family members. Since I don’t like ghee I tried to stay away. The podi was pretty good but not excellent.
I usually have a weakness for any place mentioning of Andhra cuisine and that was the reason I fell hook , line and sinker for this outlet . I purchased their tomato pickle , garlic pickle , kandhi pudi and nalla kara podi. Was terribly dissapointed by the pickles and powders equally. The pickles were all dry and lacked the punch and the same goes for the pudis too as they seemed too bland.A thumbs down for this outlet.
Really home quality food. You will always find something you like.
