Just Wowwww !!! I haven’t had best Chettinad food anywhere else. Just amazingPlease keep the same quality over the years . I had the privilege to taste their meal ( mutton kola, Sukka, fish fry) all were fantasticTheir 7 different gravy were amazing! I’m drooling while writing this , such sense of flavours in it .Ppl Do try it and have a great day.I’m yet to taste their Briyani
My sincere request to the management is to continue their service and not to dilute their menu with Chinese or north indian. Their branch in Tanjore is even more worthy in taste.
I am from up north & love trying food of different cults. One friend suggested me to try out this place & I must say that it’s amazing. Ambiance is below average but fairly suitable for a family. The food is on the spicier side (we know how our south likes the pepper) but for me the spice level was Ok. Detailed Review – Meals served on banana leaf. They serve you rice with 3 basic dry Sabjis that are by default part of every South Indian meal. Then they serve you 8 types of non vegetarian curries with flavours of country chicken, prawn, crab, poultry chicken, fish, mutton, quail, and one more. I like prawn one the most. Also they serve you one side dish depending upon the type of meal you choose. I choose Sukka mutton meal so got chunks of dry mutton with rice & 3 Sabjis. I used the term “8 Curries with flavour of meats” because It’s a different concept in Chennai where they give you non veg based curries which don’t include any pieces of meat but maybe they have meat in them but then due to cooking/ brewing the meat dissolves & becomes part of the broth. This a different concept I noticed in Chennai & seems to be common here. Every one may not like this kind of food with whole lot of rice with different curries. But for me it worked as I love to try different types of food One tip for first timers is that pls come with moderate expectations then u will love it more & enjoy your meal slowly as the restaurant staff tends to serve very quickly & you may end up with confused taste buds & a over full belly. Last but not the least do try their sweet beeda (preprepared paan). It’s amazing ! I give it 10/10 as its very authentic & perfect for any meetha pan lover.
Worth every buck. Before I say anything else this is only if you appreciate strong south indian spicy flavors that shoot straight up your head leaving you in ecstasy. ‘Namma ooru foodies’ will probably get how it feels. I’ve been there multiple times and of course a time or two the tastes have been a bit off but other than that they offer a proper non veg meal that can make your week. All the gravies have intense, authentic and ideal flavors of their own and if you are a bit early you get to indulge in the gravy meat pieces too.Overall Great food, Great sides, Decent ambience, Slightly crowded, Worth every buck.
Extremely spicy food, which was not edible! The mutton biryani was literally green chilli biriyani that burns your tongue!!! Only the meals are good. The place is extremely small and super crowded on weekends. They have banana leaf service only. The leaves are small for the table that they have, so they practically can’t have 4 banana leaves on the table without them touching each other. So the food is all over other people’s leaf!Because of the crowd they make you sit with random people in the available space.
Visited this for a Sunday lunch and it is located in pondy bazaar.Since biryani got over,we ordered 2 mutton,1 fish and chicken meals. They serve 7 curries with meals and we have to order one side dish. The curries are little spicy for our palate. All items tasted yum especially fish curry and dry fish.we completed our meal with paneer soda. Will recommend this place to non veg lovers.
