Royal Vega – ITC Grand Chola For the Royally PamperedRoyal Vega – a fine dine 5 star restaurant amidst all the hustle makes you feel like you’ve just stepped into a palace full of treasures and royal delicacies. Apt for Diwali dinners and other grand occasions as well as families with not just a large appetite but ones with a passion for food. It’s worth all the royal treatment and tummy filling.Ambience – You almost feel like you have entered a palace the minute you step in and every little element in here speaks of a typical palatial setting. As you enter, you are welcomed by the staff who make you feel like prince’s and princesses of the restaurant. Extremely warm and cordial. The foyer is decorated with large sized couches and vintage printed cushions flanking the furniture like the ones we see in palaces. Life size mirrors give you a glimpse of grace as you walk in and that which are framed in antique gold. Almairah’s decked with royal jewelry and ornaments, swords and other treasures that one would otherwise find at a palace. Walk further in to experience a chamber full of cutlery, crockery & regal furnishings giving you a queenly/kingly feel. Silver plated cutlery along with impressive details like the napkin holder and table runner embellishments that highlight the dining experience. Their seating arrangements are varied with high chairs to replicate the throne and low hexagonal tables with boulder pillows and fluffed mattresses to indicate where service men or women of the royal family would otherwise be seated. Chandeliers that exude a warm lit ambience and one that’s spells royalty.Staff & Service – Extremely polite & courteous staff who patiently took our order without any inhibitions as we had varied preferences. They’d explain the dish to us before serving it and cordially catered to all our repeated requests of dishes that we thoroughly relished. I’d also like to take this time out to thank in person the following people who made our experience as delightful. 1. Nirodh2. Deewakar3. Rajendra4. Herombo5. JoshuaThank you all so much for greetings us with your royal experience and fulfilling our cravings.Food – All that is spoken about the food at Royal Vega will be less but I’ll start anyway. They have a breathtaking variety on their menu and one must ensure to visit this place on an empty stomach in order to justify their lavish spread. A Sumptuously delicious course of assortments will make you want to repeat some of their lip smacking delicacies. Right from their appetizers to their mains and desserts, you will have to stop to take a breather from their quantitative spread. It is noteworthy to mention that their Pomegranate raita is one of its kind and truly divine. We had a double serving of that one in particular and would have felt greedy enough to takke some home if not for the rest of their treats. Yes there is a picture of this mouth watering starter that I have gladly shared with you all.Presentation – besides being a very pretty looking royal palace like restaurant, their standards in hygiene are impeccable and are things we would look forward to when visiting any restaurant. Their cutlery and crockery appeals and speaks volumes about their royal servicing. If i come back it would primarily be for their presentation. Typical Royalty like treatment is what it is.And yes, it is totally Instagram worthy.Pricing – it is definitely among the 5 star quality when asked about the tarif here. Yes it is not a place one would visit often unless pricing doesn’t matter. I wouldn’t say it’s too heavy on the pocket but if their platter is justified its totally worth it.What’s left – you know where to go if you ever want to feel like a royal king or queen.#royalvegachennai
Visit last Saturday with my family , great place for pure vegetarian ppl special who has great appetite love the food specially beet root tikia and anardana raita Thanks for the great service and thanks to chef Amit for great food
Putting forward a suggestion to the chef. In the North Indian set menu, main courses were extremely sour. Most of them were either tomato purée based or curd based. The sourness was overpowering and we couldn’t taste any flavours in the gravy.Dahi vada is served in starters and also anardana raita. When it comes to gravies they serve kadi, bhare alu, lotus stem kofta which are all again curd based. Rest of the gravies are tomato purée based except for dal and peas dish.It would be nice if you could come up with some fresh option to break this monotony.Appetisers and deserts were too good :)The ambience and seating are genuinely royal.
I go there once or twice in a year !! Only for special occasions because , it’s little expensive but totally worth the experience and if you are celebrating any occasion it’s always a good choice . They give a specially made desert which looks like a assorted nuts cake , not really sure whats it called !!! They actually give us a good welcome and the food is out of the world . This is place for pure vegetarian people! I like alll their choice of breads and main courses .
The best definite thing you would and should expect from ITC is there hospitality. The staffs are courteous and well trained and always serve with smiles. But that isnt good enough. The taste is there but when you are served a thali you expect multiple varieties to go with it. Plus you would want food to be served quick and fast. On service part it was tad slow. The huge breaks inbetween created an unsatisfying meal experience.Plus even though I shouldn’t mention the charges to be expensive for levels of 5 star. But still you should have an alacarte option as well. Thali costing 2500/- is not worth it. At least not this.
Royal affair at ITC Grand Chola.“Royal Vega” is one of the finest restaurant in India, where authentic vegetarian food is served in silver crockery. As the name says, the place will give you royal vibes with it’s beautifully designed interiors and has perfecting sitting area for an elite fine dining.
We tried their veg thali style food and we were treated with royalty beyond imagination. The food item was amazing to say the least. Go visit this place to enjoy thali style gourmet food amongst opulance.
