Incredible views of the sea, royalty insipired luxury decor both makes the perfect setting for a relaxed coffee experience. Tried their Jamaican blue and Brazilian Santos coffee. Both blends were exclusive and authentic. Highly recommend having high tea.

The beautiful Lobby Lounge of the Leela Palace Chennai is quite enchanting. We usually take-up a table here, during our visits to the Cake Shop. During one of our recent visits we had some beverages from their menu. I wanted to try something cold. After going through the menu, I found one beverage quite interesting. It was the Black Forest Blast. I expected it to be something exotic but it turned out to be a run-of-the-mill drink. It had chocolate chip muffin, Vanilla ice cream and Espresso. I thought it was okay. Not as impressive as the description, but not bad in taste. My friend ordered a Marocchino which is an espresso with milk and chocolate. It seemed that the chocolate content should have been a little higher. We liked the presentation. The Black forest blast was priced at Rs.450 plus taxes and the Marocchino was Rs.350 plus taxes. We would love to try their High tea someday. thesoulsorbet.com

Our regular Cake Shop visits always give us a new favorite. This time, while seated at the Lobby Lounge, and craving for coffee, we ordered for some, from the Lounge menu, to go with our pastries and savories. I wanted a coffee, but was contemplating on hot chocolate. So went in for Marocchino (Expresso, Chocolate, Milk). It was more of coffee, hardly chocolate. I love the way the serve the sugar sticks. The presentation is Love with heart and arrow over, but wish the correct coffee could have been enjoyed, which would have justified the cost of Rs 350This time I did not complain as they would have not billed it, and I did not want that. Just had it as coffee and then it felt fine. The cookies served with the beverage are quite nice. My friend wanted to try something fancy. He went for the Black Forest Blast, comprising Chocolate Chip Muffin, Vanilla Ice-cream, Espresso and costing Rs 450. Well, do not expect anything near to freak shake etc. It is quite simple. Part of muffin is blended with the cold chocolate coffee and ice cream, served in a beautiful tall glass with chocolate sauce, garnished with the top portion of muffin. I was not impressed with the taste. My friend had it and even finished it. The service was very good. acemat.blogspot.com

Leela Palace is known for its luxury and i needn’t say more about this place. The ambiance is top notch. Decent variety of desserts. A nice calm place to hang out.

Luxury and Leela go hand in hand !! You’re charmed by this beautiful property the minute you enter ! I was here for some work and decided to try the high tea! They have a fixed menu with lot of options for tea/coffee. I’m a sucker for herbal and infused tea and settled with chamomile infused tea. It took 20 mins for the rest of the order to come while I sipped my tea and admired the beauty of the Adyar river and broken bridge ! Oh boy, it was worth the wait! Crab and salmon sandwiches, cheese and tomato sandwich. Assorted pastries and scones with fresh cream and strawberry extract ! Pure bliss ! The place to go when you want to indulge once in a while !! Damages – 1400 with taxes but totally worth it !
