This restaurant is like a tiny time capsule that takes you back to the 90s! It’s situated behind the bus stop near Malar hospital (known as Fortis now, of course), a little hidden away. The ambience is nothing to write home about – some normal tables, a TV in one end and the owner sitting at one end. Add one grouchy looking but actually amiable waiter and it’s like you are back in the Sangeetha’s of yesteryear! The food is always pretty good too. We’d ordered the tomato soup, veg sheekh kebab, veg biryani, butter roti and gobi peshawari. The soup was very Knorr reminiscent and I love Knorr soup and hence this too:) The kebab came with a mint chutney that was amazing and this was one of the first times a veg kebab tasted so good on its own! The biryani was good and the peshawari an interesting try – tasted good but nothing to write home about. We’ve ordered several times from this place before and the food has always been consistently good. There were also a lot of delivery personnel traffic as we ate, perhaps cementing the fact that this is more of an order-in place. Go if you don’t care about the ambience much. Any which though, the food is good and isn’t that what really matters?:)
