Kostha Ruchulu is a brand new Andhra cuisine restaurant opened in the same building as Lattice. The restaurant has an affordable pricing for both veg and non vegetarians with the Thali being priced at 140.However, given it’s brand new, the restaurant faced a bit of logistical issues, with some dishes in the menu not available as well as the non availability of the main chef. As long as this is taken care of, with a good service improvement, this should definitely do well, given it’s location and ambience and pricing too. muralikarthik.in
Bringing the flavours of coastal Andhra to chennai,Kostha Ruchulu isva welcome addition to the local dining scene at Thiruvanmiyur.Located in the second floor of a complex, the extensive space is subtly decorated with the mural depicting Maya Bazaar’ s famous Kalyana Samayal Sadham being an instant hit.The menu was rather extensive with rice items dominating the lunch scene.Went with the Royyalu( Prawns) 65 and the Vanjaram( seer fish) fry by way of starters and were blown away by the taste. Not overtly spicy so the natural sea food flavours came through. For our mains we tried the Raju Gari Kodi Pulav which was a subtly flavoured rice pulao ,Mutton sukka Briyani which was briyani rice crowned with pieces of boneless mutton sukka and Gongura Royyalu masala.I liked that the tanginess of the Gongura didn’t overpower the delicate prawns.Overall a good meal and iam looking forward to trying their repertoire for dinner
New restaurant in town for traditional Andhra style food. Reasonably priced, possible to have decent meal for two for around INR 500 including few starters or drinks. Interior is kind of dark themed.Goli soda- drink served with glass bottles capped with a small glass ball- is a nice experience. We had Mokkajonna vada for starters, veg biriyani, veg thali. For vegetarians options are bit less- for example there are 3 non-veg thali options but only 1 for veg. May be they can offer a special veg thali as well. Thali gets unlimited rice, so you can eat as much as you can without having to worry about extra rice cost. Similarly Raitha was served from a vessel directly and not supplied in a cup- so you can easily have as much raitha as needed (when served in a cup it feels odd to ask again and again)Parking for few vehicles available. Do try if in Adyar area. enidhi.net
