You might have heard the buzz around town, there are so many joints which offers such box lunches some specializing on nutrients , some on organic and some offers even world cuisine in a box. Ifoodbox.in is one such box meal service( What i liked about them is they have kept the menu home style) . They have even Ala carte options.I happen to place my order through SWIGGY, and i was not really happy with the Service part of it. Dont know should i complain to Ifoodbox or to Swiggy ( but im writing in Zomato ;P ) . the delivery boy was absolutely clueless about the route and delivered the food, like one hour after the expected time. (Which has indirectly afftected the rating of them in a way. Food boxes : Chennai Mini Meals : Indefinably not a mini meal for an average quantity eater like me. It has one pulka, regular portion of Sambar rice , 2 min portions of Veg rice and Curd Rice, with a gulab jamun and a mouth refreshner. Chennai Super Meals : Pucca South Indian meals (prefect portions) Badam Milk : Was diluted but for 30 it was passable. Standouts : Great quality of Rice , Roti’s were soft and that curd rice was yum. Average star: Rest all the items faired decent and was edible.Miss : Vathahkozhambhu ( which was a part of the Super meal ) was a total miss , blame my benchmark on it , being an Iyer we have supreme standards on it Pricing and Packaging: Meal costed around 300 ( including the drink, i had my cash back coupon on Swiggy so totalled around 250, a complete VFM. Packing needs special mention, extremely spill proofed on bio-degradable plastic.They do charge Rs 15 for each box separately for this. Verdict : Might not be an Out of Box attempt, but this iFoodbox can be tried for people who just want some home style food at reasonable price. surealscribbling.wordpress.com
