Turyaa has been a hotel that I wanted to check out just because I liked the way it looked from the outside. When a meet up with a friend in OMR took a while and I needed a caffeine shot pretty badly, I dragged my other friend into this hotel and that’s how we landed at Mista Deli, the cafe inside Turyaa. Given below is my take on Mista Deli. Turyaa is located in the Rajiv Gandhi Road on the OMR stretch. It’s exquisite styling makes it a head turner for those who go through it, making it hard to miss. They have valet parking service just like every other hotel and hence the headache of finding a parking spot is taken care of. Mista Deli is located at the lobby, right next to one of Turyaa’s restaurants. The ambience is serene with very little crowd that was there for an event in it’s party hall. It’s an open cafe with a couple of comfy seats and display counter. We were guided by one of the managers who got us a waiter to take our orders. The menu was limited but it had the basics I would expect in a cafe. I opted for a Cappuccino while my friend wanted to satiate her sweet tooth cravings. The display counter looked a bit sad with very little options. She got herself a Nutty Chocolate Brownie. My machine made cuppa reached our table in a jiffy. Unfortunately the coffee wasn’t as warm as I wanted it to be. Nevertheless, it was delicious enough to be considered as a part of my daily caffeine intake. The brownie was served with a nice presentation consisting of strawberry slices and drops of compote. The consistency was more of a cake rather than a brownie but its dense feel along with the perfect level of chocolatey goodness made it a great dessert. Service wasn’t something I was happy with. There wasn’t any specific staff for the cafe and the one from the restaurant close by was serving us. It was hard to get their attention when needed, especially when we wanted the bill. With taxes alone costing Rs. 82, our bill amount was Rs. 427. I hope the footfall increases to this hotel so they’ll concentrate more on the items they serve because they have what it takes to be better.
