Great Moghul Biryani in Neelangarai, I’ve heard they are one of the oldest biryani places in Chennai. Wanted to sample some biryani before making a big order for a get-together.Thanks to Shahul Hameed for agreeing to deliver to Velachery, Zomato actually declined it because it was ‘outside their delivery range of 4 or 5 KM radius’. The same order on Zomato would have cost me rs 140 more because of upmarked pricing. That sounded atrocious! A clear 22% pushed on to the unsuspecting customer!1 Mutton Biryani, 2 Chicken Biryani and 1 Chicken 65 was what I ordered, paid 640 bucks in all. Probably delivery charges, taxes, etc in addition to it. Didn’t go that far!Coming to the food, the packing was neat, no spillage. As we opened the boxes, the tinge of orange in the rice actually took me by surprise. I’d normally expect it to be more Yellowish than Orange, like it is in most places. Nevertheless, that didn’t matter much. Mutton and chicken were clearly marked on the label outside, so no confusion or mix-up.As we opened the packs, I clicked a few pictues and served it on the plates. What we immediately realized was that the quantity was quite less for a good eater like me. The pieces were generous, no complaints there! That made the quantity of rice even lesser. Probably a portion of Kuska without pieces would be good enough for me.Chicken 65 was very good. I didn’t specifically mention it as boneless, got the one with bones. The pieces were soft, and seemed well marinated, it tasted very good.Biryani was decent, not wow! According to me, it was low on flavor and taste. It didn’t make significant impression on my palate. Biryani taste is very personal, each one will have an opinion and there is no right or wrong!I’d perhaps go over and taste once from their outlet before being judgemental after a home delivery experience. Many a times, the hot biryani served from the deksa makes a world of a difference, as compared to eating a home-delivered portion which is barely warm. Overall, just a decent exprience! mukasash.com
We are customers of Great Mighul Biryani for many years and as usual the quality was excellent with lots of pieces of mutton soft and cooked well , biryani is moist and goes well with their tasty brinjal side dish and also onion raita .Biryani comes with complimentary sweet Rava kesari which is favorite for our family.We also ordered chicken 65 which was cooked well and the kids liked it.all dishes are delivered hot and on time .if you are in mood to eat tasty biryani then order from great Moghul *****
Ordered half kg mutton biryani on Eid , place was easy to locate for pick up and very friendly staff. Coming to the Biryani , it was perfect in taste and quality, very good biryani and due to the high volume of orders on Eid they maintained the quality , taste and standards, thank you
The taste of the food is absolutely fantabulous mainly the aroma of the briyani was so attention seeking , other than briyani pepper chicken and chicken 65 were also good Overall experience is fantastic I like to give 5 star rating.
Excellent taste. Really good when it is served hot. Both mutton and chicken briyani tastes delicious. The packing is also good. Rate is normal compared to other hotels
Tasty food served extremely hot and well packaged. Ordered and they verified and checked with me the day before. They committed to deliver at mid noon. Was really good that they called me 90 minutes and delivery was before than expected. The taste was pretty much fantastic. It was very good and moderate spicy. I must admit that this is amongst the best Briyani served in Chennai.
