The Latest trend to land in chennai food scene is that of the Chimney Cones from Hungary and the latest outlet to open doors is The Chimney Factory a brand from Mumbai..They have opened up their first outlet in Palavakkam in the complex that houses McD and Pizza Hut..But this outlet has opened in the back of this complex and lacks visibilty but something that shouldnt be missed..Clubbed in a pastry shop this outlet has a vibrant small dining area with 4 tables..Also some board games are present to help us pass some time..With quite an eloborate menu the service was fast and the servers were kind and friendly..Ordered Chicken Malai and Quella Crunchy..The Chicken Malai was a savory cone topped with cheese and herbs and filled with the malai chicken gravy..Loved it..The Dessert one however was the best with a sugar topped cones and filled with crunchy chocolate spread..Definitely worth trying..
Chimney factory is such a beautifully designed outlet just off the main road in ECR. Lovely effort has been put in for good ambience with great lighting and decor. Chimney cones are a relatively novel concept in Chennai with very few outlets selling good ones like this one. We got two flavours : apple cinnamon with vanilla ice cream and pretzel and caramel with vanilla and chocolate ice cream.Since many asked how this works: the stuffing goes inside the cone with the ice cream on top along with the respective toppings. The chimney cone is a baked product that tastes great consumed along with the stuffing as you work your way down.Staff is very friendly and service was prompt.
