Hola ,a Spanish/Mexican inspired restaurant is hosting a Seafood and Sizzler festival and that was a big enough pull for me to make a long drive to try that out.The ambiance is open plan, white walls, large picture windows and framed prints all paying homage to the countries which inspired the name.Soups/Starters:They had 2 soups in the special ,festival menu and i tried both. The crab soup and the seafood combo soup which both had a similar seafood stock but the latter had a lot of chopped seafood in it and the presence of chopped ginger and green chillies gave a certain oomph to the dish .From their regular menu,we ordered Tomato &Basil Bruschetta which was just perfect .Tandoori Jumbo prawns were a treat to look at and tasted delicious.Tandoori seafood platter ,had a combination of prawn and seafood kababs all cooked well and distinct in taste from the subtle Malai Jhinga to the meltingly delicious machi tikka.Chilly Basil Squid was a Asian style preparation of the squid rings and loved that the protein had not been overcooked and was tender to the bite.Mains:This was a no brainer and we did choose a variety of sizzlers to sample.Chicken Chipotle ,Mixed Seafood,Paneer Shashlik,Chicken in hot garlic sauce were all consistently good. The highlight for me had to be the ‘ off the menu’ Shrimp Fajita which was shrimps sauteed with onions and coloured peppers served on a sizzling hot plate and accompanied by Spanish Rice, Tortillas,Sour Cream and Salsa.Loved the do it yourself aspect of the dis ,where one can add condiments according to one’s taste.Desserts:I couldn’t resist trying the Tiramisu which was a rather substantial portion and can be shared by 2.Loved the laid back feel ,good service and above all the delicious food.

Made a beeline to Citadines when I came to know that they are having a Sizzler & Sea Food Fest. I would go to great lengths for a sizzler but with seafood how could I give it a miss, since the restaurants at Citadines are well known for their quality and taste.Hola as the name suggests is a Spanish cum Mexican restaurant and is conveniently located on the ground floor and just near where you alight from your vehicle. A further 10 steps and you are inside the tastefully decored interiors of the restaurant proper with a huge glass facade. They also have a Pizza oven for those Pizza lovers. Since we came for the sea food we confined ourselves to them and the sizzlers. The menu is an A la carte one with a choice of 2 soups – The Crab Soup and the Sea food Combination soup. Since we were a party of 5 we decided to share both of them. The Crab Soup was just like what your grandmother would make when you have a cold. This was similar and guaranteed to clear your nasal passage. It was so spicy and the bit of chopped ginger accentuated it. The Sea food Combination soup was a fully loaded one loaded with sea food in a flavourful spicy broth. We had a lemon Mojito to soothe our senses and to prepare the taste buds for the delicious meal that followed. For the Appetizers we had the Bruschetta, followed by the Chipotle Chicken – which was chicken tossed in a Chipotle sauce served with Grilled Vegetables, Herb Rice, French Fries. The chicken was quite tender with a slight hit of the Chipotle sauce. Tandoori King Prawns – There were 6 of these huge Jumbo Prawns marinated in Indian spices and grilled to perfection. They were just too good and went down a treat. The Tandoori Pomfret was also marinated in the same spices and was quite juicy and tender. Seafood Tandoori Platter which had 2 types of Prawn and Fish Tikka. The Chilly Basil Squid was a Chinese stir fry style of preparation and the squid was cooked just right without being rubbery and the seasonings were just perfect. One of the best squid dishes that I have had in a long time. Chicken in hot garlic sauce. This was a classic chinese preparation nut what made it special was that it was served on a sizzler plate and this ensured that the chicken remained hot and juicy even though we ate it after a good 10 minutes. We didn’t miss the classic Shrimp Fajita with its normal accompaniment of Sour Cream, tortilla, salsa and Spanish Rice. It was one complete and delicious dish.To end this meal on a sweet note I decided to try the Classic Italian Tiramisu which never fails to pick me up.It was a great meal with pleasant company of fellow foodies.
