Sri Vishnu Bhavan is a udipi style vegetarian restaurant That is located on the busy and narrow Perambur Barracks road where parking is a big headache even for a two wheeler. From the exterior it may look a bit older but the interior seems to have been refurbished recently. The servers here are all elderly people and hence the service may be a bit slower but assured. I had ildi, vada and poori. Idlies were typical udipi style, soft and grainy that will just absorb sambar readily like a filter paper does the ink. Sambar is sweetish of which I am not a fan of. Vada looks very good and puffy. But I sliced it open all I could see was a lot of empty space in it. Wonder what is their secret of making such a good looking and voluptous Vada with meager quantity of dhal batter. May be the secret lies in the baking soda used. Poori again was looking very puffy but it was made of very thin skin. The real disappointment was the masala given as it’s accompaniment. It was more like a potato podimas than a poori masala. It was that dry. Cost is cheap. For a couple of idlies, vada and poori masala I shelled out only Rs79. srirelishes.blogspot.com
