  CR biriyani is a sought out destination in Coimbatore to have tamil Nadu style biriyani. The eatery is located in Town Hall but not on the main road side. You need to go little inside to find this place. A proper navigation using Google maps will help you to reach there easily. I went there on X’MAS for having their biriyani after hearing good feedback from one of my friends and I had also watched a video on this in You tube. The eatery serves biriyani only along with variety of side dishes in Mutton and Chicken.Their Menu card is pasted on the walls but it is written in Tamil only. You need to depend on the supplier to know what all dishes are available if you don’t know to read Tamil. The eatery serves only biriyani among the rice section with good variants like (1) Chicken Biriyani (2) Plain Biriyani (3) Chilly Chicken Biriyani (4) Mutton Biriyani.I reached here around 2 pm and by that time their chicken and mutton biriyani got over. Most of their items will get over by 2.30 pm.Place:Place was super crowded on that day. It is not that much clean and not recommended to dine in there. It’s just a mess like setup with few benches and chairs. Most of the people who come here are for taking parcels only. On that day the queue extended till the main road as more and more number of people were coming for taking parcels. You need to adjust with the Seats which you are getting and sometimes you won’t be able to sit with your friends if you are coming here as a group. Once you start eating and till it’s completion people who are waiting for their turn will be looking into your leaf . They will be standing near to your chair to grab it once you rise up with your soiled leaf. You won’t get that calm and privacy if you choose to eat from here.The dishes will be served on a banana leaf along with raita and gravy placed over it. The main disadvantage is that you need to pick your soiled eat and you must put it in the dustbin in the middle.of huge crowd. The place is less spacious with hardly a couple of people can move around freely . With in this small confined space there will be a long queue for taking the parcels.The price of the dishes were reasonable. You will get most the dishes with in RS 100 range and the quantity of the portions offered is worth for that amount and it will be enough for one person if you don’t have the habit of eating too much.I opted for Chilly Chicken Biryani and Chicken Chinthamani in my visit. The price of the chilly chicken biriyani was Rs 80 and it had the required quantity for that amount. I don’t think it will be enough to fill a tummy. As I was not feeling hungry at that moment and I finished it off with that only. The chilly chicken biriyani contained 4 to 5 small pieces of chicken kebab mounted on top of the biriyani rice. The taste was good. The price of Chicken Chinthamani was Rs 80 and the quantity provided was only for 1 person. It wasserved on my leaf and it contained miniature pieces of chicken which was embellished with raw onion pieces and green chilly. The taste of the dish was fine.Altogether I had to pay Rs 160 for my orders. I would personally suggest you to go for takeways so that you can have their food peacefully. It was evident from the queue that this place is one of the most sought out destinations in Coimbatore to have biriyani.
