A mess, probably the best Vada I have had. The sambhar vada is awesomatic. I also like Pongal and other tiffin varieties here still the Crispy Vada is the highlight!!
I ate here for 4 days continously.. for the first 3 days food was good. 4th day I had masala dosa and suffered from indigestion for 3 days. Now I am scared to eat in this hotel.
More like a mess than a hotel. Small and compact. Anytime after 2 they wont have anything except dosa chappathi n parotta n curd rice. Good varieties fr morning bfast though. Been thr thrice.
This tiny hotel situated on the 18th main road just transforms you two decades back once you enter. Everything looks 1980’s and beyond. Only thing that is contemporary is the new board sign on its entrance. dining area couples as the storage area too where there are stacked up gunny bags , LPG cylinders, and small barrels.I had idly and Poori at this place. The idly sambar chutney reminded me of the various dharshinis I used to have breakfast in Bangalore. The same soft fluffy idlys that just absorbs the sambar and crumbles as you touch it softly. The sambar too had the kannada style about it. The chutneys, both coconut and pudina however were sour. Must be the ones made early morning. The Poori was dry without any semblance of oil in it, nice. The masala was okayish. The chutney that they served for Poori seems to the freshly ground one which was very very good. The pongal also seem to retain the yellow semisolid quality of the Bangalore hotels. The pricing is very cheap but don’t expect much in terms of hygiene, ambience, service. srirelishes.blogspot.com
Of late the quality/quantity is not keeping alignment with price charged!!Also it is becoming a big let down!! Only TINA factor vis a vis udupi restaurants type in the vicinity keeps the management to engage in monopoly trade practices!!
I grew up in this locality. I personally know this place for the last 23yrs. One place which refused to run as fast as the time ran. My dad introduced this joint when we keep our fast for Sabari Malai as it’s Vegetarian joint managed by a family migrated from Karnataka. If you remove the blue colour from the wall which is recently painted..it’s the same old Srinidhi. Food is a soulful experience which involves eyes, nose, touch and taste. I love the onion dosai, curd vadai and parota. It’s a small joint..if you feel like going back in time to taste and feel Madras in 1989-91..plz do visit this place. You’ll enjoy the experience. Recommendation: Break-fast or Dinner. PS: Don’t go there with an idea of getting your taste buds melted. It’s a feel you’ll enjoy if you are in your early 30’s and who loves MADRAS.
