Just like the culture, the food of the Indian subcontinent is also varied. The culinary style and dietary habits alter from one region to another. The local tastes of the Indian dishes gradually got influenced by the foreign culinary styles like that of British, Persian, Arab, Aryan, Portuguese and others. In India, cooking is considered almost like an art. It is known for its large assortment of dishes and its liberal use of herbs and spices wherein the cooking styles vary from region to region.United Kitchens of India, a brainchild of KLV Kiran, founded in the year 2015, is a standalone restaurant in India that hosts seven-state cuisines under one roof. The thing which possibly gives us an embodiment of peace is only and only food. UKI is hence known for its rather elaborate menu — dishes from various states like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Punjab, Karnataka, and many more are served here which can satisfy almost everyone’s cravings. UKI have expanded their operations to Secunderabad area as well now in Karkhana. As you walk into the spacious interiors, you will get a glance of gleaming wooden floors, comfortable seating and ceilings come together to create a warm, welcoming ambiance. The desi drinks like Narangi Chaska & Goli Soda perfectly match up with the traditional dishes on the menu. From the appetizers, we started off the fare with some succulent piece of Bhattiyan de kebab & Bharwn Paneer Tikka which has its origin from Rajasthan, was a dish of paneer cubes marinated with yogurt, turmeric, ginger and spices with a mint chutney filling making it a taste-packed meal. Moving on, we got Mochar Chop, Murgh Angara & Galouti Kebab; being a bong I had high hopes from the mochar chop & UKI simply stood strong to my expectations, it is basically banana blossom minced with spices and crumb fried into croquettes having a little sweet taste, along with the robustness of homemade garam masala; even the Galouti Kebab was flawless as it had minced lamb meat cooked in butter, roasted chana dal and spices. Next up we got Gun Powder Ragela Vepudu & Konaseema Mamsum Vepudu, both of which have originated from Andhra, perfect in terms of taste. From the mains, we got Dal Makhani, subz bahar, Murgh ka Mukul & Kosha Mangsho; all of these have influence from various states wherein the chef didn’t leave any stone unturned to maintain the authenticity, all of the dishes were just perfect & surely are the top picks from the menu at UKI. Being a bong, authentic Bengali dishes are very close to my heart & I got Chingri Malai curry along with steamed rice, this dish was surely worth the wait as the curry made from prawns and coconut milk and flavored with spices was so delicious when consumed with rice; all the components of the dish were so distinct. After having such an amazing experience so far, the foodie in me was looking forward to the desserts. We were presented Caramel Cheesecake, Gajar ka Halwa & Qubani Ka Meetha, I personally loved the gajar ka halwa as it had the right amount of fresh carrots, milk, sugar, ghee & nuts, slowly cooked to offer the right flavor balance.UKI definitely hits the checklist of any foodie owing to the fact that it hosts cuisines from 7 diverse regions of India, which can satisfy the platter of any person.
A new outlet in Karkhana which was previously at Jubilee Hills is united kitchens of India.Located on the main road right opposite to the prime restaurant of Karkhana i.e Grill 9 is a must visit place. This place has classic ambience with dim lights and colourful seating. This place has beautiful decor which makes it a picturesque restaurant .This place is a good dining outlet for family , friends and for romantic dates too.The menu is vast and includes dishes from more than 10 states of India .. I’ve been to this place with a group of foodie friends of mine for dinner. The staff at this place are friendly and courteous.Food :Bhawara paneer tikka:This was a delicious appetiser and was presented is a good way .The paneer was soft, fresh and tasted outstanding. This is a must try at this place.Gunpowder royal prawns:This dish was a pack of flavour. It was hot ,spicy and had tempting aroma.Prawns were slightly crispy and had a burst of flavour.Konnaseema mamsam vepudu :The mutton was perfectly cooked and was soft , tender and juicy. It had proper amount of spice and tasted terrific.Murgha angar :With a beautiful smoky presentation, this dish set up its level high with mild smoky flavour in the chicken. The chicken was flavourful and juicy . I personally loved this dish.Narangi chaska:This mocktail is served In zip locks . This drink was refreshing and was soothing to the taste buds.Dal makni :This is another dish which goes well with Indian breads. The dish had a pleasant aroma with extremely creamy gravy which is a must try at this place.Do visit this amazing place!
If you want to try food from different states in Hyderabad, United Kitchens of India is the place to be. Earlier they had an outlet in Jubilee Hills and recently opened in Karkhana. The restaurant has a pretty good ambiance with lovely interiors and soothing atmosphere. Thanks to the music playlist. Coming to the variety, the menu is fatter than the fattest textbook you ever read ! Divided among 10 states, the menu offers items ranging from starters, main course, desserts and beverages. We started off with Litchi Delight with was refreshing. Narangi Chataka and Goli Soda were pretty nice. For starters we had Bharwan Paneer Tikka, Bhutteyan de Kebab, Cheese Corn Balls and Mochor Chop. Mochor Chop was done from Banana flower and it was pretty nice. The stuffing was spicy but different. Paneer Tikka was stuffed with cheese. It was soft and the marinate was bang on. Bhutteyan de Kebab has always been my favorite here. Corn Cheese balls were average.Overall, loved the starters. For main course we had my favorite Dal Makhni, variety of Roti, Naan, Kulcha on offer along with a mix veg curry. Dal Makhni was pretty nice and creamy. Surely one of the finest Dal Makhni I’ve had. There was also Paneer Pulao which was nice, but could have been better. For desserts we had Qubani ka Meetha and Cheese Cake.Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience there. Few starters were here and there, but I’m sure you’ll have a good experience here. UKI has never disappointed me, so kudos to the team !PS: This was a part of Food Blogger connect initiative, so the food was on the house. However, the review is honest. socialmaharaj.com
United Kitchens of India have started their new branch in Kharkhana. As it is the beginning stages they were lots of improvements that are to be made at the restaurant. Firstly coming to ambience. It was very good proper seating. Perfect for a family dinner or friends meet up. Secondly coming to beverages. Too much of Ice of blended into them killing the taste of the core ingredient of the beverage and tasting totally ice. Coming to appetizer they were okay but the portion of the food was totally not worth the money. Main course was good and desserts were good but they can do better like they’re jubilee hills branch.Looking forward to visit again with changes

A visit for lunch on Republic day , can’t be a better place to be serving food from 8 different states under one roof without compromising on authenticity.Ambiance ,food service are something which they have taken utmost care which makes it a must visit place .One of the best fine dining restaurant at Secunderabad undoubtedly.Coming to the food1.Hoky water – Soothing a coconut based drink and Sabza seeds and basil leaves make it very refreshing and excellent drink with a right balance of everything.2.Narangi Chaska- Excellent drink ,one of their classics infusion of fresh fruits and worth a try.3.Goli Soda – Comes in different flavours and all are fun ,comes in those Goli soda bottles goes with all the dishes.4.Gun Powder Tiger Prawns-Amazed by the size of the prawns and the way they were cooked so nicely.this is mostly Prawns fried in a barter having gun powder to give the typical south Indian Flavour5.Meena Pulichatu-Its very tasty one of the star dish. They are wrapped up in Banana leaf and steamed nicely and nicely marinated with spice ,a keralite version of the bhapa illish.6.Murgh Angara – Taste like Chicken tikka and it comes in a nice pot which keeps it smoked and being a Mughlai dish I would say they have introduced a lot of royality in terms of the taste and the garnishing.Anotger Punjabi dish which they have nailed it.Loved it.must try.7.Bhuttyan da Kebab- Crusted nicely from outside and soft from inside. The whole texture makes it so special and interesting.Again Something from Punjab and a killer8.Mutton Galaouti Kebab- A perfect kebab and it was so perfectly made because of the marination and the texture came out to be perfect.9.Corn and cheese balls- Obviously they have continental stuff too,the cheese balls had cheese oozing out and right amount of corn to give that perfect texture.Main Course1.Mutton Biryani- Flavor ,aroma are something which makes a Biryani stand out and they had the right punch in their Biryani ,unlike Hyderabad Biryani this is less spicy but worth trying2.Kosha Mangsho – A dish from Bengal where Chicken or Mutton us cooked in a rich masala gravy and it is supposed to be a thick gravy which they have made to perfection. This can go best with Puri which is usually in Bengal known as Luchi and a must try for all.4.Chettinand Chicken The chicken curry from the South ,mostly Chennai tried it for the first time old spicy and again a must try which will go with the rice or Indian breadsDo follow my insta profile. – http://www.instagram.com/chromejoy22For more interesting details and insights in the food scene.5.Sambhar Rice Simple dish but every place gets it so wrong that why sometimes simple dishes we rely on our home recipes but this is one of the best Sambhar rice I had and it goes just brillianly with the Daal Bada and Papad6 Sabz Bahar – A traditional mixed veg dish from Telengana. The gravy is wonderfuly made best thing is less spicy so you get to taste the combination of the veggies and has the right balance ,pairs up nicely with their naan and Parathas.Their breads are nice, soft and not the stretchy typeDesserts are a must in this place we were full so settled for Gulab Jamun which was absolutely brilliant. But one of the must try is their Gajar Ka Halwa, the consistency ,the texture and the garnishing everything was so perfect.Next time will try their cheesecake too.
