I was searching for the best place for Authentic Western south Indian food.At last I found this restaurant on Zomato and I drove to this place.Pretty impressed with ambience and decor as its really matches with the food menu and food menu.Seating was perfectly arranged .Lighting was good.Paya soup :It was so rich textured one . Mainly the texture was so soft and smooth and mutton meat was so soft and tender. Really loved it.Panner Tikka :Panner was so soft and tender . Spices are in correct proportion .Chitti Garee and Natukodi :Really loved this chitti Garee . They are so small and so good looking. Natukodi chicken was perfect combination with Chitti Garee .Mutton Vepudu :A good one but bones are in huge portion when compared with meat.Need to improve with this.Pulavs :A good one how ever need to improve the quality of pulav

Been here for a late lunch on Sunday, we were in by 2:30, around five groups were still in the restaurant, rest of the tables were empty, we received a warm welcome and were allotted wall side seating with sofa.Started with paya shorva, one of the best shorvas I had, perfectly spiced, with apt thickness, served hot.Ordered kurnool kodi pakodi, chicken ghee roast and kodi seekulu.Kurnool kodi pakodi, is the best, oil fried tiny chicken pieces coated with flour, soft and subtle.Ghee roast chicken was yumm, especially the masala with which it is prepared, pieces were succulent, neatly cooked.Kodi seekulu was good, but not on par with other two starters. One concern is about quantity, it’s way less than that of other restaurant standards, whereas price is almost in the same range.Tried mokkajonna gaarelu, crunchy and delicious, no need to order any extra curry, they are better off with the roti pachadi they provided along with it, can’t help munching on them.In main course, kodi ragi sangati, is undoubtedly the outstanding dish, never heard or saw it earlier, chicken pieces mixed and cooked along with ragi sangati, dripping in ghee, very tasty and satiating. Also had kodi pulav that tasted good.Ended with desserts junnu and korra payasam, junnu was ruined and was stinking, on informing the same, they took it back and didn’t charge us for that, nice gesture when something goes wrong, korra payasam was nice, but it’s more of a korra pongal.Ambiance is rightly set with light music, pleasant and authentic wall decor, comfortable seating.Service staff were courteous, but tad slow in getting the dishes, wonder how long they take when the whole restaurant is full. This must be visited at least once especially when you crave for authentic spicy telugu cuisine.

Been to this restaurant couple of times. For no surprise right from ambience, service and menu everything is good.Tried starters like Kurnool kodi pakodi, ghee roast mamsam, miryala kodi.. All are flavorful. Their USP is spices and regional flavors. In main course tried special sangati which is having chicken mixed in it. Comes with lots of ghee can enjoy the taste. Muddapappu annam is fine.Kottimira kodi kura with breads is good.In desserts tried korra payasam and chocolate gulab jamun which is ok for the cravings. This place is enjoyable if you want to try nice telugu regional cuisine.

Being a south Indian, I have never much tried the non vegetarian cuisine and especially being in Hyd had not eaten much of proper Telugu food. Teluguness was the excellent introduction to Telangana non veg cuisine!!! This place looks deceptively small at the entrance but once you open the doors, you are welcomed to a wonderful homely and traditional abode- filled with paintings and murals depicting the people and life of ancient Telangana. Love their ambience, with ight wall textures and bold coulours on the paintings and use of pottery and lighting to create that time shift, is just amazing. Now getting on to the food, we were welcomed with a nice bowl of paya shorba and a kodi shorba..nit being much of a mutton lover, I must say, this was the best Paya I ever had!! The right mixture of spices didn’t make me feel that the mutton flavour was too much, instead the flavour was enhanced and soothed on the tongue..the chicken shorba was also wonderful- I could have it all day, especially in a rainy season like this. 10/10 at this point. Starters were so great- The mini vadas served with a bucket of chicken pulusu was the ultimate delight that awakened my south Indian senses to a completely different experience. The mushroom Karam Vepudu was one of my other favourites-the masala was so yummy-mushroom cooked to perfection—I can have that anytime!! For the first time I tried the Sankhati- both Veg as wel as the mutton (Mamsam Sankhati), which I understand is a special preparation. It is sort of like Haleem but way different in the flavours- It was ammaaaaazzzziiinngg. A MUST TRY!! I actually oved the Veg Sankhati more! Then next tried the ghee roast mutton n chicken starters -suppeerr yummy…I loved al the dishes here, frankly, the taste was just incredible..i felt like a south Indian again-having missed the masalas that were spicy and invigorating… Loved their Kodi pulav and Biriyani also..finished the meal with gulab jamuns..hot and perfect..aur kya chahiye—perfect day..Thanks Teluguness-I m so coming again..

If there was ever a contest for cooking up the fieriest delicacies, a native of Andhra Pradesh or Telangana would indisputably win away all with flying colors. Food is one of the important things which the people in this part of the country take it very seriously. There are many varieties of food for different regions of the Telugu states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. While talking in regards to Andhra cuisine, it is vital to maintain the split of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in mind. After Telangana attained its identity as a separate state altogether, a lot many mouthwatering delicacies- that were once coupled up with Andhra Pradesh – shifted to become a Telangana exclusive cuisine. Interestingly, the two states are quite spread out yet much similar in their style of cooking. As Red chili is produced in abundance in these two states which makes it a hot favorite among the localities. A word of caution that if you take a bite of any authentic Telugu or Andhra dish, you are sure to fan your mouth cool right after the very first bite! Here is a restaurant with a mission to bring back authentic Telugu dishes which are becoming extinct, to connect people to their roots and re-create the magic of their ancestral homes. Located in busy lanes of Hitech city, just amidst the IT hub of Hyderabad, Teleguness which is an inception from the mind of Vikash Reddy, has undertaken on the unique initiative after realizing that many dishes are becoming extinct due to changing lifestyles these days. It offers authentic dishes from the two Andhra states. Moreover, the name of the restaurant itself evokes curiosity by giving one an impression of nothing but true authenticity in terms of the dishes Teleguness offer. The wall paintings, a miniature of dolls and bullock carts, rangoli & decor on the rooftop clubbed with some authentic soothing music places you in an ethnic homely ambiance thereby leaving a cultural touch of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The food here is served on plates covered with Banana leaf which gives us the natural essence. Starting off with the food that was presented, we were given Miryala Rasam & Paya Shorba, both of which were apt in terms of flavors although Rasam was a bit more flavourful. Moving on, Karvepaku Paneer Seekulu, Mushroom Pepper Fry, Miriyala Paneer Pakoda, Kodi Seekulu, Kurnool Kodi Pakodi were some of the starters that are worth to be tried; all of which were nothing but lip-smacking in terms of texture & flavors. We would recommend trying Kodi Seekulu & Miryala Paneer Pakoda. From the mains, we were presented with Veg Sangati, Chitti Garelu with Mamsam, Mamsam Ghee Vepudu, Palak Paneer, Mudha Pappu Ghee Rice, Kakinada Royalla Pula & Ulvacharu Veg Pulav. Out of these, Mudha Pappu Ghee Rice, Sangati & Kakinada were the show stealers easily. Finishing off on a sweeter note, Junnu, Chakira Pongal, Bellam Garre & Gulab Jamun were presented, out of which my favorite was Chakira Pongal which is a good sweet dish to end your meal with. Nevertheless, if you are craving some good Telegu Food, we would suggest you visit Teluguness at the earliest as it serves some really great authentic Telugu cuisines & don’t forget to try one of the above mentioned amazing food items to relish the taste of unique Andhra style tangy spices and seasonings.
