Some say Baseball is the ultimate American pastime but we’re assured that it’s actually pizza instead. Everyone has their favorite and new ones seem to crop up all the time. They’ve even got pizzas with a crust made of chicken now. The point is, it’s a good time to be in the pizza game. While local pizzerias are always a good choice, there are millions of die-hard chain pizza lovers out there. The major brands of the Pizzeria world would be Domino’s, Pizza Hut & Papa John’s. We decided it’s high time to search upon a new brand of Pizza outlet in the city of Hyderabad. Starting off with their flagship store in Bengaluru, IMI or India Meet Italy, the brainchild of Phanindra and Nagadeep, is a fresh entrant to this space with self-conceptualized and proprietary recipes including Wood-fired Pizzas, Calzones, Pasta, smoothies etc in different blends & flavors. Although IMI got its inception in 2017, it has gained quite a lot of youung crowd attention for a sought after place for Wood fired pizza. The main factors to consider are the big three: sauce, crust and cheese — after all, those are undoubtedly the three main elements that come together to create the frozen pizza trifecta of perfection when done right. All these 3 elements were quite good at IMI, however, it has some room for improvement as they are still fresh in the pizza business. We happened to visit their Madhapur outlet with a seating capacity of 16 pax in addition to nicely lit interiors with hi-chairs and tables. Although they have quite a range of food items, do try out their Calzones, Verdure Classic & Chettinadu chicken pizza, which is only available at IMI. Verdure CalzoneOverall, IMI needs to step up their game in terms of wood fired pizzas and pastas to stay relevant in the market as there are lots of brands & outlets opening up off and on in Hyderabad. Nevertheless, I would suggest everyone visit this outlet & try out their dishes & give suggestions to IMI so that they can make a paradigm shift in the Pizzeria space.
