We recently visited this place for dinner. It was mostly empty with just another couple. Service was untrained and lacked motivation. Oddly when we enquired about the type of fish in few items they called the chef but unfortunately he couldn’t even clarify either. Another strange thing was besides the front dining area they must be having another sitting area inside. A group came out from inside and were extremely loud which spoilt the dining experience. Food was okay. I won’t really get into authentic or not because I have not tried Chinese in China however I have definitely tried Chinese in some of the best known Chinese restaurants in India and abroad and compared to them this place serves pretty average stuff. Portion size is small. Overall it was a pretty disappointing experience and I don’t think I will visit this place again.
Had a terrific experience the other day here for lunch. Although we reached after the kitchen was closed, they graciously re-opened the kitchen for us.For appetizers, we had the green beans and Chongqing chicken. The green beans were beautifully cooked with a nice chili garlic flavour. The chicken was a dry preparation, with a similar chili garlic coating.For mains, we had the eggplant and home made noodles. The eggplant was succulent and had very subtle flavours. The noodles were thick, nice and chewy and had a good sesame oil taste.Overall, it was so nice to have an authentic Chinese experience here in Hyderabad with terrific service.One should go here with an open mind and not expect our typical indo-chinese fare.
If you are into authentic Cantonese style Chinese food, Ju Yuan is the place for you. The place looks like a typical Chinese eatery with the red and black theme and I would never have given it a second look if not for the great reviews from friends. So glad we discovered this place!We went as a party of 5 so got to sample quite a few dishes -1. Chicken Xiao Long Bao – Very juicy but wrapper could have been thinner2. Sliced Lamb Oyster Sauce – Was excellent. Ordered it again the next weekend when we revisited the place. Must try!3. Hot Braised Pork with Chilli Powder – The pork and lamb dishes are fantastic. Must try.4. Kung Pao Chicken- Was pleasantly surprised that this Chinese takeout staple was done beautifully. The chicken was succulent and tossed in a nice sauce.5. Stir Fried Squid with Dry Chilli – A must have! Even those at the table who are not seafood fans really enjoyed this dish.All in all, the meal was excellent. It is not cheap but well worth the money. They have a great chilli oil as well (if you are into that stuff). Service is also great and you can get unlimited refills of hot Jasmine Tea to wash down the great food.Note – Do not go to Ju Yuan if you are on the lookout for typical Indian Chinese fare. The spices and flavors are more delicate and simple.
The food was soooo good, it almost made me cry.
This place is a must visit if you love Chinese food. The head chef is from Hongkong and even the staff is Chinese. The ambience is lovely and this place is recommended by Food Drifter. You cannot miss a place that Ashis and Nidhi recommend and no doubt. It was lovely. Don’t listen to anyone who says service is bad because the staff, including the managers and servers are extremely courteous. Since the place is newly opened, they might have needed time to manage well but if the food is good and the staff is so welcoming, I don’t mind the wait time at all. It’s extremely well priced and the taste is beautiful. I would recommend the crispy lamb, I’ve never had such tender lamb in Chinese appetizers. It’s too good. I also love the hand pulled noodles. Subtle flavour and has a chewy texture. We also had the chicken dumplings in soy chilli sauce. It was damn good too. I shall visit again.. and soon!
The service is poorest of all the restaurants.Forget about serving the food we had to wait for 30mins just for the forks and spoons, while the dishes were staring at us.Food tastes just fine,but the worst service won’t convince you for a visit second time.
