this place is an institution in the bar scene. i think this is the most preferred watering hole in its surroundings. it was packed being a week night. it has an open kitchen, no air-conditioning. two large halls cooled by water based air coolers. no separate smoking section. liquor is served at a very low cost compared to others. the food is inexpensive but good. in my bar – quest i have realised that there are bars with a south indian aligned menu (read sambar rice) and a north indian aligned menu. this one leans towards the north menu (read tandoori stuff and jeera rice). and the owner takes pride in the tandoori starters served here.we had:JW double BlackBallentinesBrain Fry: the best i have had till date! i am going back again and again for this.Mutton chops: this is the biggest piece of chops i have had in hyderabad and yes its mutton, tender, juicy, very well made, loved it. it was the entire rib, spine with the full backstop meat attached to it!fish fry: small pieces of batter coated boneless fish fillets, i would have preferred it without the coating, it made a nice accompaniment to the drink.chicken 65: not a great dish, not a bad dish either.Afghani Chicken: chicken curry topped with an omelet, this was recommended by the owner, so we tried it, it was full of flavour, creamy, well made. had with one tandoori roti and jeera rice. the jeera rice was short grain rice and it was good.spice lovers don’t go here, you will be disappointed, this place serves good food, flavourful food.
