If there is one notable diet-trend that has taken the world by storm in the recent time is the ascent in the number of people moving towards vegetarianism globally. While the trend has only just picked up globally, a pure vegetarian selection of food has been a very essential component of Indian culture, there is no country as tightly coupled with vegetarianism as India. Meat and poultry lovers may take pleasure in their tasty delicacies in the fine-dine restaurants, but an effluence of vegetarian cuisines revolving around seasonal veggies, herbs, oils and grains has managed to keep the vegetarians happy too. Hyderabad, the land of Nawabs, is often considered as a paradise for non-vegetarians but the the vegans have a different story to tell. You might end up finding an outlet solely with veg delights which makes them excellent picks for pure vegetarian food enthusiasts in the city. On similiar lines, Spice Garden is a outlet which offers solely vegeterian delicacies. Its located right in the heart of the city of Hyderabad with close proximity to Parade Grounds, Secunderabad. Apart from the inviting homely ambience, it is the very courteous and welcoming staff that meets the eye. From Ala Care to Buffet, Spice Garden has both options to cater to with a huge range of vegeterian cuisines in house. Visited them a few days back for a lunch session and I was left astound with their dishes starting from Makhmali Seekh, Tiranga Paneer tikka, Crisy fried babycorn, dum biryani to some interesting chats like Pani Puri & Dahi Vada to some great sweet picks like Mirchi rasgulla, Paan rasmalai & Malai chamcham; all of which were neatly done. Moreover, they have got all sorts of dishes for all taste buds so that none can feel left out in terms of spice levels. Here’s presenting the list of dishes that were presented to us:1. Cranberry blossom- A fine blend of cranberry with some vanilla ice-cream topped with strawberry gel & tulsi leaves gave us the needed start to our lunch session.2. Berry blast Lemon – Blended Sweet berries served in amalgamation with lemon juice gave a detox effect as soon as we drank it.3. Russian Salad – An exotic and delightful salad for your tastebuds which was packed with veggies like peas, carrots, french beans and potatoes coated with mayo, black pepper, salt and served with some garnishing.4. Caeser Salad – This was tossed with fresh lettuce, a punch of flavor from tomatoes, black berries, and fresh cut apple parmesan cheese garnished with grated cheese served with crusty baked bread.5. Sprouted Beans Salad – Delicious salad was prepared with srouted mung bean, chopped tomatoes, cucumber, onion, garnished with lime juice.6. Tiranga Paneer Tikka – Paneer chunks marinated in three different kinds of spices e.g. spinach, cashew nuts, saffron etc., grilled to perfection were an absolute delight.7. Mongolian Paneer – Paneer chunks tossed in sweet chilli sauce and flavored with chilli flakes and peanut powder with assorted veggies served with some salad.8. Paneer 65 – Crispy fried paneer chunks tossed in a spicy masala gave that 65 masala touch however the masala could have been allowed to cook a bit more evenly.9. Makhmali Seekh – Bread chunks in associated with veggies grilled on skewers & was served with salad dressing.10. Veg Chatpat – A spicy dish prepared from assorted veggies tossed with basic Indian spices served in a gravy format garnished with cream.11. Kadhai Paneer – Paneer chunks cooked in Onion-tomato based gravy with in-house masala garnished with red & yellow bell-pepper.12. Subzi Chaman Bahar – Assorted veggies cooked in a gravy with in-house spices was served with rotis & naan.13. Veg Dum Biryani – Biryani spices and vegetables mixed with basmati rice prepared by layering the biryani gravy and basmati rice served with Raita & Mirchi Salan.14. Dal Palak – Toor Dal temperd with Palak tadka.15. Dahi Vada – Vadas(Urad Dal fried dumplings) soaked in thick whipped yoghurt topped with spicy & swwet chutney was the star & an instant delight.16. Coffee Rasmalai – A slight variation to the standard rasmalai but in this case prepared with milk, sugar and coffee flavour which was a nice one to savour on.17. Paan Rasmalai – Another variation of rasmalai prepared from milk, sugar and betel leaves also was a good preparation.18. Mirchi Rasgolla – A twist of taste to the widely accepted dessert, rasgulla, this was prepared by adding a light flavour of chillies in addition to the basic rasgulla. This variation of rasgulla left a bit spicy taste in our taste buds although it was listed in the dessert section which was even mind-boggling for us & a great offering.19. Kela Jamun – Jamuns filled with saffron slow cooked & dipped in sugar solution was just the perfect dessert we could end our meal with.Spice Garden is an amazing place to visit with family & friends alike for having a great time over a effusive full course meal. Overall, a great synthesis of authentic food, ambience and hospitality.
The restaurant is located at the basement of Royal Reve Hotel at Secunderabad. When the general notion is good food is at Jubilee Hills n beyond than restaurants like Spice Garden are good enough to change the perception. The place is nicely decorated for a happy meal with your family and friends.Buzzling with crowd so better get your seats reserved before going here.Has both ala carte and buffet option .The buffet spread is humungous and the food is outstanding .We tried their salads -1.Sprout salads- Yes they have kept healthy option for the health freaks.Fresh .2.Caesar Salad-Creamy sauce with lots of veggies and yes they had my fav cherry tomato. This were served alongside starters ,being veg they had wide collection of starters of PaneerMongolian Paneer is something I loved so much .Rightly spiced and it had a tangy taste tooThe showstopper in their starter was Paneer Tiranga and Dahi Bhalla.Paneer Tiranga – Paneer stuffed and is more like an open tri layer stuffing.Soft, succulent and enjoyable with their mocktails- Cranberry blossom.Loved their Paneer Makhmali Sheek -panner kebab in skewersFor the main course loved their Dal Fry ,Sabzi Chaman Bahar ,Paneer Tikka Masala. All the items had the perfect balance of flavours and spices ,creamy which went nicely with their soft and succulent perfectly made Kulcha and Naans.Loved their modest Aloo Zeera tooOne can try their veg biryani alao which had perfect dash of garam masala, cinnamon and the other spices.Served with salan. The last surprise is their desertsRashmalai – Mostly originated in Bengal an Indian cheese cake which is soft and lesa spongy than Rasgulla. They have made this complex dessert and offering in Coffee and Paan flavored.Something not to be missed where they have infused the flavours bao nicely and perfectly.Spicy Rasgulla- Yes a conundrum rite !! But their innovation has come out nicely leaves behind a tangy and spicy tickle in the tongue.Gulam Jamun -soft and nice.Cake and their mousse was also nice. The coffee infused mouuse again they know how to fuse things and play with your tastebuds.A perfect meal gets complete when you have the best and courteous staff .Prompt service and best staff makes the place for a nice lunch or dinner with friends n family.
