With so many places offering Thai, Korean & Japanese cuisine in the city there’s a new kid in town named Foodgarten. Foodgarten offers Thai, Japanese & Korean dishes under one roof. Foodgarten is located in Carkhana drive-in in Banjara hills. They have a lots of menu in the house including Tokayaki, Boba milk, Padthai, Bingsu, Frozen mock tails, Italian soda and so on. We had started with Tokayaki a ball shaped Japanese appetizer made of wheat flour based batter & cooked in a special molded pan. It is typical filled with minced or diced octopus, pickled ginger, green onion. But for Hyderabad’s they came up with Paneer, Chicken, Crab stick, Prawns, Octopus. We tried paneer & Chicken tokayaki. Paneer Tokayaki & Chicken Tokayaki are good in texture with nice golden color fried balls and on top drizzled with Japanese sauce & mayo. While coming to the part of tasting it was perfectly cooked from outside but inside it has to be cooked a little bit more. I felt that the core part of tokayaki was under cooked with the minced paneer and chicken. Next item was Chicken pops, chicken cut into julienne and marinated well with the batter. It was also nice golden brown in color but upon top drizzled with sweet paprika powder, which made the dish very sweet. I personally not a fan of it but my colleagues liked it. Next was Egg Padthai, a stir fried rice noodle dish which was perfectly made with all ingredients in it. The presentation was simply Outstanding where the noodles were presented in a omelette. This tasted simply yumm. Next item was Chocolate Brownie Bingsu, which was very delightful to watch Bingsu is an popular Korean dessert, its also called shaved ice cream which includes chopped fruits, condensed milk & fruit syrup. We ordered chocolate brownie bingsu, which was a complete bliss. I could say this would be the next thing in Hyderabad. Next were cold crepes, crepe being an other form of thin layered pan cake served along with varieties of fillings. We had ordered choconightmare crepe which comes with chocolate ice cream and snickers and chocolate sauce. This was also very good, completely enjoyed having this. Next was frozen mocktail and italain soda. Frozen mocktail was good after that we had their signature smoothie named Summer Cooler a watermelon based fresh juice which is served in watermelon only along with cubes of watermelon in it. The smoothie was so refreshing and soothing, must try one. They have a lot of items to try, we just tried few of them we will be back to try their other dishes especially black knight spaghetti. For now this is it. chemcook.wordpress.com
