Japanese food is a weakness of mine and I was looking forward to Maguro and it delivered. It offers two dining areas – a traditional seating area and a western seating option. The food is clean tasting and presented beautifully. The staff were well mannered and efficient. A good selection of the well known Japanese favourites and some new dishes to explore. Give it a try.

Maguro is a new restaurant which serves proper and authentic Pan Asian cuisine. This place is nice and super fancy having seating arrangement of the typical Pan Asian style as well as normal restaurant style. This place is located in Filmnagar.Maguro is a Japanese word which translates to Bluefin tuna which is the most known fish for sushi. The menu caters to different nationalities, serving delicacies from various places. Almost every item is a speciality.Bento Sashimi – 18 pieces of half cooked Salmon, Tuna, Crab and Yeal. Not everyone has the taste for this. People who are die hard sea food lovers may enjoy this.Sushi and Maki bento box – I was never fond of sushi, but after eating this, I changed my mind all thanks to the chef for preparing this dish and making it extremely delicious in taste.Soft Shell Crab Fry – This is a whole shell crab. It’s fried and perfectly crisp. The crab is served in sweet and spicy sauce which enhances its taste.Thab Thim Crob – Amazing dessert which consist of coconut milk, with jasmine syrup added as a sweetener, red water chestnut and lemongrass. This dessert was my personal favourite from the menu.Green Tea Icecream – As the name suggests, this dessert has the sweetness of icecream with the bitter taste of green tea. First time tried something like this and loved it completely.Overall, my experience was great. The service here is exemplary. Presentation of all the dishes were very unique and creative. If you’re looking for something out of the box, extraordinary in taste and proper pan Asian cuisine, then you should go for Maguro.

Maguro, The minute I heard the name I knew that it’s one of the places I definitely have to visit. It looked so fancy in the images that I’ve seen online and to my surprise, it was exactly like that and I was glad to see that it’s not like a few other pretentious restaurants that only look good in pictures. The first time I went to Maguro I was a little disappointed with their service and their mocktails/Drinks but I take back my words after my recent dinner session. They have an ambiance that could pass off as a fine dining restaurant. I love the fact that they also have low dining tables along with the regular seating arrangements. I always prefer to eat every cuisine with their respective dining etiquettes. It just adds to the whole experience.Coming to the food, They’re introducing the concept of Bento Boxes. Honestly, I am a huge fan of this because it is convenience meets perfection. There is a box curated for every preference that you might have. For example, you love Sushi? There’s a Box with an option of assorted sushis available, you love Fried rice? There’s a box that serves Fried rice with a curry, soup, salad, and dessert. Just pick one that you like and enjoy the art that the chef has created in terms of the flavors and presentation. These are the boxes available on this menu right now – Bento Sushi and Maki – Assortment of Salmon Nigiri, California Maki, Ebi Tempura Maki, Karai Maguro Gunkan, Shake Tobiko Gunkan.Cold Sashimi Bento Box – A variations of cold meats of 9 pieces, 14 pieces, 18 pieces. I was surprised to see Eal meat in this. Which was amazing and I loved it. Except for the Tuna I liked all the other meats.Premium Matsu King Set – Hiyashi Wakame (Seaweed salad – absolutely loved it), Sashimi – (Salmon, Tuna, Crabsticks), Ebi Furai – Bread crumb prawns which were crunchy and tasty, spot-on, Scallop in Hana Sake Tobanjan Sauce – Grilled scallop in Spicy sauce ( goes so well with the fried rice), Ninkv Chahan Ebi (Japanese prawn fried rice), Green Tea ice cream – Matcha.Siam Set that comes with a Tom Yum soup, Som Tam (Raw papaya salad), Kai Krapao (Minced chicken in hot Basil sauce), Green Thai curry with steamed rice (Love the flavors on of the best I’ve had).Apart from these they also have the Kaiseki Queen set and the Osaka Set which I’m yet to try next time. To me, the Bento boxes work as they’re giving me bits and pieces of everything that I want which is sufficient for one person. Although they are slightly pricey I would prefer this over ordering an entire dish from the menu. I understand that every dish right from the salad takes a lot of special ingredients and time.Off the Bento box menu, I also tried their Softshell Crab fry – It was presented so well with a little spice and a little sweet.Spinach pancakes – Mushrooms and onions sauteed and stuffed in spinach leaves with a coat of yummy thick sauce which had an amazing texture.BBQ pork – The flavors of this dish were just spot on. The BBQ flavor is my personal favorite. The pork was cooked impeccably which was juicy and tender. The belly fat was just melting in the mouth. This was served with some sticky rice to go with it.Yaki – Niku in sweet Marin soya sauce (Grilled beef) – Beef is always a tricky choice for me but this one was spot on. I love the fact that it was grilled so well and wasn’t too chewy. This is also served with some sticky rice to go with it. Although it tasted amazing with fried rice as well.Coming to the desserts – The Bento boxes serve a single portion of dessert and they vary from set to set. I’ve tried their Green tea ice cream from the Bento box menu and off this menu I also tried their Thab Thim Krob – (Flavoured water chest-nuts put in sweetened coconut milk and jasmine syrup garnished with lemongrass). The green tea ice cream was absolutely delicious. It wasn’t too sweet and was the right amount of flavor. I would love it if this was also in their ala-carte menu. They also have a black sesame ice cream as a part of the Osaka set which I shall try next time. Overall I was very impressed with the food, ambiance, service of the place and would definitely recommend this to everybody. I’m looking forward to them hopefully serving some creative cocktails/drinks that go well with the dishes. For example – Sake sangria. etc. I also love the fact that they’ve incorporated pork and beef in their menu as they are one of the most used meats in the Pan-Asian cuisine. For all the pan-Asian lovers out there, DO NOT MISS THIS ONE. bitesizedjournal.com

Was a little surprised with the seating. They have two sections, one with tables and the others with cushions and low tables. Wasn’t something I’d expect in a Pan Asian restaurant. Usually seen that type of seating arrangements at mandis. Nonetheless, coming to the food, the choice of chicken starters was VERY LIMITED. They had only ONE chicken option for starters excluding dim sum, crispy chicken in thai herbs which we opted for. The starter was very dry and extremely fried. Didn’t like it much. The coriander chicken dim sums were nice. The roasted chicken bao was decent, a little too sweet for my liking. My friend liked their sushi, so sushi lovers should definitely try this place! Coming to the main course, it was average, nothing too extraordinary.

Extremely disappointed with the restaurant food and service! Firstly the waiters were clueless about their job and were serving us main course in quarter plates .The food had no taste and didn’t seem fresh. We had the lotus stem starter, Burnt garlic rice and Thai herb chicken. Both the veg and non veg starter tasted the same and the burnt garlic rice was like any other fried rice! The restaurant can get extremely noisy and you can barely hear the person sitting across you. If you are looking for a quite ,cosy place this is not the restaurant you are looking for.

Parking: Easy. Ambience: Cool. Service was good. Crispy chicken with Thai herbs was alright. Chicken was too tough or may be it was supposed to be like that. Thai yellow curry and burnt garlic rice were pretty disappointing. Lacked flavor completely. Hopefully they’ll get their act together.

This place is situated right next to Churrolto in Film nagar. Despite the crowd being attracted in and around the food joints there, this place is something you SHOULD NOT miss.Loved the shake sushi and the crisp pan fried noodles which came along with the chicken and vegetable stu. We liked the vegetables more and felt that the chicken could be a bit softer. Do try the sauses that they offer along with everything you eat. They’re heavenly❤️ so I would say, one of my favourite pan Asian restaurant where I would love to head back and try the other dishes. The ambience is good. They’ve got a live counter as well. The service was a bit laid back. But once they’re hooked they’ll do justice.
