Enjoyed the biryani and the salan here. I truly recommend this place for Biryani.I also tried Mutton Talawa which was delicious too. Chicken Reshmi kebab was disappointing.
Visited Meridian hotel on our Hyd visit for a lunch. Ambience is not so great, but the place is flooded with people. We were there for almost an hour and half, and never did we see a single table empty even for a minute. There were people waiting besides the table even before the bill was paid. That tells about the popularity of the place. We ordered 2 chicken Biryanis and 1 Mini mutton biryani. The quantity of both were good, and we found the chicken biryani tastier than mutton (debatable from others’ perspective). They also serve the gravy along (which we did not like – the biryani was great when ate independently). The pieces were well cooked and rice was well done. Nothing to complain about. We ordered a butter naan (for my kid), but they initially denied saying they have a policy of not serving Naan / Roti if there is no curry ordered (which was a bit surprising condition), but then after a lot of requests to multiple people, they were kind enough to provide that. My kid happily ate half portion of it.One more thing was the quantity of the salad (onion + 1/4 lemon) they served along with the biryanis was way too less. When asked for more salad, the server denied and further mentioned that we would be charged 20 rs for one plate (the amount of onion served initially was not even 1/4 of a mid sized onion). Obviously, the way it was communicated was not so good, so we denied it.Overall, food is good, staff is somewhat okay (some are good, some are really harsh and arrogant).I would recommend a take-away, rather than eating there, as they have parking issues too (2 people are there to facilitate the parking place in front of the hotel).Food – 5 / 5Ambience – 3.5 / 5Service – 4 / 5 (1 point given extra instead of 3 for providing the butter naan for my kid by breaking their rule)Overall – 4 / 5
This is a romantically lit spacious joint, located at Punjagutta cross roads.I’ve tried their special mutton Biryani and Chilli chicken. The Biryani is well balanced and tastes good. It is oily so that might put you off a bit.The Chilli chicken lacks complexity which definitely adds to its flavour with subtle hints of sweetness seeping through the hot and dry chunks of chicken. The service is delayed as it is hard to catch the eye of wandering waiters who generally are busy in conversations.
The Biryani No one talks about :Here lies the Legendary Biryani place. One of the best Biryani’s I’ve had in Hyderabad and it cruises right into my top 5 places for Biryani’s.The Quantity of Biryani is something no one in Hyderabad can complain about. The right amount of spices made it taste rich in flavours touching on various notes and left a beautiful after taste. The Mirchi ka salan is a must mention. I’ve always had an aversion towards the same but this place changed my mind. This Restaurant serves the Authentic Mirchi ka salan, and it’s very very satisfying. The condiment had a nutty flavour with a sour/bitter taste which is used to tone down the robust flavour of the Biryani. This Place is an absolute topper !!!!
I had heard a lot about their Biryani and hence tried this out. I ate the Mutton Biryani and must say that it is totally worth it. The Mutton is succulent and you get the aroma of ghee from the biryani. The salan was also very thick and went really well with the biryani. The main course and starters were also amazing
