The quaint lanes in the city of the Charminar are home to countless eateries serving scrumptious portions of fast food. Whether it’s Masala Republic making vegetarian cool in a city of avid meat-eaters or the Sunday cocktail brunch at The Westin—the city is peppered with food eateries of various sorts. Foodie Nation, tucked in the busy streets of Ameerpet, incepted by Mr. Naveen & two of his friends who are working professionals in an MNC. Foodie Nation came into existence as three friends were highly inspired by the food scenes of Hyderabad & wanted to contribute more this ever-expanding field in the city of Pearls. Foodie Nation is a small outlet which offers Quick bites to its customers starting from pakodas, chinese cuisines, kebabs, curries & biryanis as well. They have a well lit outlet capable of hosting 10-15 pax with a local kitchen of their own wherein the food gets prepared. We happened to visit them during a Saturday afteroon for lunch & were served with some of their offerings starting with Pepper Cauliflower & Chicken 99. Both of these dishes were deep fried with texture and structure similiar to any pakodas & good in terms of taste served with Mint chutney and salad. Moving on, Paneer Papdi which was a new invention from the Chef’s side, a preparation of paneer cubes dipped in batter & coated with cornflakes deep fried in oil; this could have been better with a mild masala stuffing in between the paneer cubes so as to make the dish more flavourful. Next up was Malai Kebab, which was marinated quite well & grilled till perfection thereby making the chicken pieces very juicy & it instantly melted in our mouths; this too was served with chutney & salad. Ending the course with their in-house preparation of Chicken Biryani, one of the better ones which I have tasted off-late & had the right amount of spices in it. Overall, the prices are really affordable at Foodie Nation & the quick snackers options that one gets shouldn’t be missed for those instant food cravings.
