Recently opened place inside country club. Very good and cozy place for an evening chill out. Reasonable prices and great food. Special and recommended dishes are pepper chicken , Prawns , Tawa pulao and Malabar Chicken ghee roast. The ghee roast is overpriced which taste is good but nothing special or great about it. The only problem at Bar project is the staff who are really rude to their customers and are total amateurs and need to improve on their behaviour. They even got happy hours which we don’t recommend as they are not the prices of happy and totally not worth it.They have also got lunch Combo’s which are Great too and sufficient for one person easily starting from 249
While most of the party scene has been localized in the newer part of the city namely Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills, its only recently that the area of Begumpet has caught the wind and started producing brilliant lounges and bars one after the other. The Bar Project is another one of those newcomers who recently setup shop right inside the Country Club making it almost impossible to miss. Decored in a contemporary European style, the place sports both an open-air as well as an indoor seating both ornate with elegant pristine white furniture and complementary wall hangings, which provides a relaxed and welcoming vibe.Coming to the grub, the menu has been curated brilliantly keeping the theme and type of establishment in mind flaunting a multitude of flavourful small plates and shareables paired with the classic cocktails and drinks from the bar. From among the eclectic array of appetizer offerings for both the diets, my picks from the vegetarian section had to be the Matar Samosa and the Tawa Khumb and Cheese Spring Rolls. While it was the bite sized portions of the Matar Samosa that wowed me, it was the earthy, flavourful filling of cheesy minced mushrooms which was the shining star for the Spring Rolls.Even the non vegetarian spectrum wasn’t far behind in producing brilliant dishes, my favourites among which included the Kache Kele ke Patte mein Chaptati Macchi, Ghee Roast Chicken and Zafraani Prawns. The succulent fish with the zingy-punchy marinate is definitely a must try along with the regional delicacy of Ghee Roast which had an amalgam of exotic spices blending in with oodles of Ghee, all served on a soft Malabar Parantha. A suggestion to the kitchen would be to probably make the parantha a bit softer and in house as the one served tasted like those off the shelf frozen ones. Even the mains section had some good dishes on the menu off which I got to try their Keema Pulao which again was truly mindblowing. Prepared in pure ghee, each mouthful was a joy to the taste buds giving the perfect balance of flavours from the spicy mutton keema and the sweetness from the fried onions.Talking about the service now, the staff here at The Bar Project was pretty warm and polite, making sure they make the diners’ experience a wonderful one. All through the dinner service, the servers made sure that the each of our demands as diners was met. Even the kitchen worked in sync with the demands from the dining hall and kept pushing dishes consistently ensuring great quality. All in all, with the great offerings and competitive pricing, the place is definitely going to become the best watering hole not only for the locals of Begumpet but from around, provided they maintain the consistency!
On a fine Sunday evening I decided to walk by this new place called ‘The Bar Project’ in country club Begumpet. The place has really good ambience both outdoor and indoor. The musics good too but on a Sunday evening it was quite empty but they definitely need to do some hardcore marketing to reach more guests. Loved the ambience and your pricing. Coming to their food, I had hariyali murgh tikka which was perfectly good and the chicken was very tender and well marinated. Service it is, as soon I came in there was a bouncer who had called me bro and asked for my ID laying his hand on the host desk while I’m standing and showing him my ID. Well, that was a quite a warm welcome. Then asked for a table to the staffs but no one was bothered to even listen to me not that they were very busy to attend. After 5 minutes I think the manager comes in to attend me. Even he wasn’t bothered to give me a table and was simultaneously forcing me to sit on the bar. Well , I think I get to choose my table here. But I wasn’t so fortunate to be in as there 4 tables empty with reservation board on it. And there was 1 table which was empty and had no reservation board. So I asked him very politely that can I get that table at least, but to my shock he said that table too was reserved. Finally after requesting him he gave me that table. After an hour I noticed that the tables he said was reserved wasn’t reserved. Guys if you don’t want us to sit anywhere but the bar then why keep tables even if it’s a table of 1. It was really disappointing that I don’t get to sit where I want. And the manager was insisting me to go sit In a isolated place. And after I finished my dining and clearing the bill , I couldn’t finish my beer as I had to leave for an emergency. So I had asked Mr. Manoj the manager if he can help me keep the rest of the beers (3) and I shall come back in an hour and pick it up. But this guy judges me saying ‘What if you get drunk and come back for more’ ! Damn it man I don’t give you any authority to judge me or have a stupid assumption about me even when I cleared myself saying that I have to go for an emergency and I’ll be back in an hour coz I was meeting someone senior and I couldn’t carry the beers along. But this guy was absolutely very defensive. And there was no apologies nor shame to tell me so. And he finally ends the conversation saying ‘ it’s not in our company policy ‘ well this I’m hearing for the 1st time in my life’ that I don’t get to keep my paid beers be kept while I’m in a emergency. I think the manager does more judging his customers than giving a good dinning experience to their guests or customers. It was a horrible experience. I’m never recommending this place to anyone as it doesn’t give us the dignity we deserve than only judging us. I really had a bad experience. Small Advice/ Suggestion : The management needs to interview polite and positive attitude staffs and managers. It’s a new place so please don’t spoil it for some unwanted taken decisions.
