Called the restaurant and asked them politely if they serve in my area. The guy who picked the phone (Ankit Shishodia) who was not interested I my query said, and asked me to check on app if it accepts we deliver. I explained to him that it had happened with me with subway before that they accepted order online and didn’t deliver food. He said he has no clue to which I further requested to confirm it with your manager. He said that he is the manager and can’t confirm with anyone else. And also when I tried to ask his name he clearly told me like he is warning me or something that even if I take his name, it’s of no use.The response really surprised me and I don’t know is a not acceptable response. Now the question is why am I so concerned because their order is non-refundable. So following advice and because I loved the food of this chain restaurant I ordered anyways. I called valet he said it’s too far and I should not have ordered or whatever and was already pissed for some reason. When I tried to call him to explain my address and directions, he was also not ready to listen was hanging up on me continuously.Because I chose 30 mins or free option and paid an additional money for that, I only wanted to help him to reach me on time. But no, would he listen.In all this scenario I kept my patience and order to see how is McDonald’s doing in Meerut. And to my surprise they think because they serve good food so it’s ok to treat their customers like trash. Which I don’t think is the best strategy. Besides being the fact that this chain restaurant was able to enter Indian market being an American food giant and is gaining popularity day by day, I really want to see how far could this go, when your servers are zero trained at customer service. If we put aside this all customer service thingy, the least you could do is at leastsound empathic to your customers. All this money and all this fame, what’s up with you McDonald’s!!!! Serving a happy meal to your customers with some customer service isn’t something unachievable or unattainable. Ankit Shishodia- the way he responded to my call was ‘this is how I talk, and this my way of doing things, and there us nothing you could do about this.Anything that zomato or McDonald’s could do to make this better. Because yes we live in a country of 1.33 billion people, but to be treated as a trash especially when after paying a good amount is not justified. Because you don’t pay someone to get insulted or humiliated. It’s a hard earned money and I think respect is the least could’ve asked for. I wish an open apology and if you dont deliver in my area they dont accept order. Also work up your people and train them first to how to deal with your customers.Still doable right!!
