Pleasant and lively restaurant inside the Hotel. We liked their food, service and ambience in totality. Nice hotel to stay and enjoy your meals. Few rooms have view of Taj Mahal and it’s amazing.
We stayed at the Gateway while visiting Agra and for the 2 days we stayed, had most meals at the coffee shop but on the last night we decided to treat ourselves to some fine dine food. The murg malai tikka was soft and melt in the mouth, the curry we choose – shahjahani murg was mild and something unique for us. The roomali rotis were super soft. My daughter refused to eat the chicken so they got her a bowl of paneer from the buffet next door at the coffee shop. The ambiance is perfect for dinners. Candles lighting up the place and live sitar in the background. Didn’t get a chance to click most dishes but had to capture the sweet dish – thin sliced petha stuffed with mava. Never have I had a petha in this avtaar. A must must try when visiting Jhankar. The best part of through out our stay was the service. Really warm and pleasant staff so ready to help you. whatzcooking.in
My partner and I had a great time at this restaurant. The food and service was excellent and the live sitar and tabla (drum) players complimented the setting extremely well; creating an apt ambiance that filled us with eager anticipation for our visit to the Taj Mahal the following day. The Hotel was also excellent; from the amazing and hospitable welcome to the high standards maintained throughout.
Have been to this place quite a few times and one only does that if the food is good. So the quality of the food is quite good, the service is good. They also allow to visit their kitchen. The ambience is also great. One can also order dishes from their other restaurants.
The earstwhile Taj Group hotel renamed Gateway is a popular destination of tourists. The ambience is inviting and quite tastefully done.. The service is effecient and the chef also makes an appearance to checkout or help in your choice of dishes. Go for the tandoori dishes which are quite tasty especially the tandoori chicken and kebabs which are soft and succilent. The nans, rotis and laccha parathas are soft and come hot . Spices are a bit mild to suit European palates so dont be disappointed. Overall above average but it just needs that extra something to match Peshawari !!
Good ambience, great service but very average food . I was disappointed after eating their chicken curry- thee chicken tasted stale. Mutton Curry was nice.
Being in the city of love, perhaps my expectation was somewhat higher.I felt that the welcome at the hotel was extraordinary, by receiving a welcome tea and having our face painted with traditional paint. However when dining at the restaurant, I felt like I was on a business trip and did not experience the wow factor when it came to service. The food was good, but perhapsI was searching for wow. When you have a view of the taj from my room, I guess nothing else can trump that.
