This is one of the hidden gems of Dehradun and it was happenstance that I ventured to visit it. It’s a very small place in an area with about a dozen chicken joints including the infamous chilliez ( which I have reviewed as just about the worst food in the world) . The restaurant is run by a poultry farm owner so you can be sure about the quality of the broilers. We ordered a chicken tandoori, dal makhni, tandoori roti and nan. Basic food but the flavors really shone through. Given the fact that most restaurants can’t get even basic food right, the dal was well balanced, creamy and full of flavor, the chicken was juicy and very tender. On asking the owner about his secret recipe he said the chicken is fresh and sourced directly from his farm and that they use whole spices in tempering and also grind their own spices. For gravies and tandoori the same half done chicken is not used, for tandoori the chicken is 60% done and for the gravy chicken is 40% done, different marination are also used. The difference has to be experienced. It’s not just another hastily assembled tandoori or gravy. A lot of care has gone into it. This place can give a lot of more expensive places a real run for their money. Very inexpensively priced with generous portions, the owner is clearly very passionate in the food he serves. Highly recommended.

I have ordered 5 full biryani from this restaurant, but i must say the food was not worth the price in terms of quantity as well as quality. The mint chutney was full of artifical green color which left our fingers green after eating food. Also there was 3 or 4 very small pieces of chicken in biryani and also the rice quantity was very less. Apart from this it was actually not biryani but chicken pulao.
Do not order from this restaurant. It’s quality is pathetic. They serve nothing in biryani. There was one small chicken piece in full biryani. The quantity was for one person and price was too high. Zomato should remove this restaurant from their list itself as they are scamming people.It costs over 300 for little quantity and bad taste.Edit: The restaurant called and told that they gave less quantity as I applied zomato promotions. Quite a weird explanation as customers are not responsible for the partnership and any promotion that incurs any kind of loss. If you think it’s a loss, better not to partner for online delivery.
We had ordered through SWIGGY Butter Chicken 1/4 portion taste & portion size was good with 3 chicken pieces of our demand and 1/2 Chicken Biryani taste was nice with 2 pieces but portion size was less but anyway’ s taste was good I like to order again from Dehra Darbar restro. My YTB channel Food ‘n’ Travel Dil se Dil Tak rating for you is 4/5.***** SWIGGY delivery is lightening fast and to the mark.
I once went and bought a full kadai chicken which stood to my expectations and was really good. So therefore I turned to Dehra Darbar once again but this time really dissapointed. I ordered a half kadai chicken but the portion I recieved seems like a quater. A really sad experience i’ld say . Not expected from zomato. And there’s no bill accompanying the order. I expect much better service from Zomato. Providing bill upon delivery should be a must to gaurentee the customers of the legibility of the order they placed and the order they are receiving.
Situated just opp. Bhura chicken corner this is an average restaurant..I have tried their Changezi,Kali mirch,Tandoori,Chicken tikka everything is average ..Chilliz restaurant situated in the same area is a better option for non veg..
