We ordered aloo paratha. And it was the worst paratha ever. Made of maida, and a bad aloo masala. Not completely cooked. We couldn’t finish the paratha and just left the place. Horrible.
This place was recommended to me by the hotel staff , and i must say i was not at all dissappointed. The place goes by the name purple dhaba near the lakshman jhoola area.It has a roof top seating as well as the seating at the ground floor. They are mainly famous for the wonderful north indian food. They serve variety of thali.We ordered a chana masala , palak dal and kadhai paneer. The best was the palak dal it had its authentic taste and the dal tasted better with the palaks flavour. The chana masala was a way bit dry some amount of gravy would have been better. The kadhai paneer was great.The service was a bit slow and the staff was friendly.Overall a great place for lunch and dinner.A must visit for proper north indian food.
My and mom and I were looking for a place to have lunch when we came across this dhaba, located near the Laxman Jhula in Rishikesh. it has a decent ambience crowded with Indian families looking for veg Indian meals and has the provision of air conditioning as well. We decided to get the paneer thali/meal which consisted of steamed rice, butter naan, daal makhni, matar paneer, boondi ka raita, green salad, and papad. The quantity was quite good but the taste was average similar to any other ordinary dhaba, nothing different. Therefore, I was not impressed. To speak about the service, it wasn’t bad. We didn’t need to ask the waiters repeatedly for taking our orders or water. You could to this place if you are looking for a wholesome and hygienic Indian thali/meal.

Purple Dhaba is a nice place to have thali . I had the special thali and it was damn tasty . It had so many items and everything was delicious . The view from here is also great . You witness the great laxman jhula from rooftop and have a chill time . The rates are quite good and worth the money .. The ambience is quite simple and decent . So overall a nice place to have brunch or dinner . The quality was good and food was served in good huge thalis ..
