LOCATED in Diamond Plaza mall next to PVR movie hall. Its spacious. First impression The staffs are courteous and always suggesting and helpful. The food was good. We went for Indian cuisine. The service was slow even when the restaurant was empty but the food was well cooked and served hot. Tutty fruity icecream wasn’t that good imo but could be better.

It was Saptami lunch time. Wanted to have Bengali food only. As expected most of the places were serving thali or buffet: my parents are not comfortable with both, so I needed a place which serves both criteria of mine: bengali food & a-la-carte.This one is situated on 5th floor of diamond plaza which is not very far from my parents’ place. We thought of visiting some other restaurants but all of a sudden saw the board they put up outside : pujo special Bengali menu. There were veg thali and some good non veg options from where you can choose any. That was indeed great thing. To my surprise we readily got seat as well. I was bit sceptical 1st but when I entered I saw the place is really huge not at all crammed like other restaurants in that area. The service was decent. Some new staffs were appointed for puja and they were little confused. Food we ordered : Kolkata fish fry, Chitol machher Muithya, Mutton kosha , Basanti Polao along with 2 mocktails : kiwi crush and one Orange based drink. Food were good. I loved the polao and mutton kosha. Fish fry was good too but had they fry it some more I would like it better. My parents liked the fish fry though. Only disappointing dish was Chitol Muithya. Here they made some mistakes : koftas were on harder side and we found few fish bones in koftas. The dish tasted more like Dhokar Dalna. Finally in dessert we ordered Brownie with ice cream and Darsaan. Both were yumm. The bill was Rs.4000 which is okay. Overall I had good experience in Red Kitchen. They have good big bar counter and live music place. Will visit them during non festive time to enjoy the pub ambience.
Ambience was good. However food wasn’t upto the mark. We ordered crispy chilly baby corn. The baby corn was very stiff and difficult to chew and wasn’t that tasteful either. The staff were attentive. Digital payment modes weren’t available which made things difficult as nowadays most people prefer digital payments.
