The sunday alcoholic brunch comes to RS 3540 per pax and includes unlimited sparkling winne, red wine, white wine and vodka.4.The staff is attentive.5. No annoying service charge, but being an upscale property, they levy 18% GST.ConsA bit pricey,compared to other luxury hotels.
Taj the name describes all. Earlier I visited another dinning section of theirs. I was really impressed that time. But this time I am bit disappointed. Their starter section is limited compared to price charged. In any other Luxury dinning buffet section there is plenty full of options. But compared to the price they charge the starter section is not satisfactory. Rather then this no complains.The staff behavior is really good and prompt. The food was delicious I just loved the food. Hope they will make a bit options in starter section.
Had a great lunch with SOUTI SAMANTA . Ambience wise it was up to the mark. You’ll definitely have no complaints about their services. Staffs are so very friendly. Now coming to the food section, since we had buffet for lunch, we had wide range of foods starting from continental salads to authentic raspberry Yugert as a desert. Quality of foods were amazing but yeah i personally do feel they would have include some non veg items in the non veg main course section. Otherwise i had a great time over there overall 🙂

Cal 27 is the third avataar of the All day dining of Taj Bengal. It’s done beautifully and influences of a North Calcutta house with touches of European architecture just make it so refreshing and elegant. It has windows above on all sides which resembles as if the centre is an Aangan or the central courtyard of the house.The breakfast buffet is great with all the regular offerings of Fruits, juices, shakes, healthy foods, Breads, Eggs, Bengali breakfast like Loochi and Aloo. Cold cuts and cheeses are great too.Do try their special Egg white fluffy omelette, it’s one if a kind. We also ordered in room dining which again comes from the same kitchen and lived their Kebabs and the Pizza at the same time. Firstly, the hotel, Taj Bengal. So royal. Such warmth. The restaurant, Cal 27 is no different. Courteous staff and beautiful decor with wonderful ambience. One can enjoy having food with the lovely swimming pool in the background. Quite a sight in the evening.My booking through another app was hassle free. I reached 45 mins earlier than my slotted time, but I was offered a table right away. Infact they were expecting me. I didn’t even have to provide any booking details, they just confirmed my name and that’s it.Salads – Cal 27 has a great salad section. Roasted Lamb is a must try. Just loved it. Couple of Pork Salami salads. They also have Chicken Terrine with Bellpepper and there’s a fish salad too (Fish & Egg).Starters – This section is slightly disappointing for meat lovers, as they only have one chicken kebab. It was just okayish as the inside of the kebabs lacked proper amount of salt, which means the chicken pieces were not appropriately marinated. We tried Chicken Pizza from the live counter. It was quite awesome. Pasta was creamy. Pizza is the must try item in this section.Main Course – I really loved the Mutton Biryani. One of the best buffet biryanis ever. Mutton pieces were slightly hard but they tasted so good, and the rice was so aromatic. They also have Beef in the form of Tenderloin but it was very hard, so couldn’t finish even one piece. Didn’t like the Chicken Breast in Thai curry. I also tried plain rice with Maccher Kalia which was so good. First time fish curry in buffet meals seemed so honestly prepared.Desserts – Cabinet Pudding (10/10), an absolute must try. Blown away. And also don’t miss the sugar-free Seviyan Kheer (paayesh). They have 3 bengali sweets on offer, not so special those. The show-stealer in the dessert section for me was the Raspberry Tart. Too good.Excellent service as expected. The attendants are very courteous, helpful and attentive.Buffet costed INR 2065. Easy billing and payment.Overall a very satisfying and royal experience. Happy diner.
