Nice bar at Taj Bengal, went for drinks. Menu is exhaustingly huge. Ambience is very old school but true to the name & the concept. Concise food menu, but service is very attentive. Prices can be on the slightly higher side, but worth the experience
A weekday evening well spent with nice red wine and fantastic Mongolian chicken. The value of the experience is worth the pinch in the pocket given the tranquil and beautiful ambience along with the friendly and helping staff.
The food here has been consistent over the years that I have visited the place. What stands out for me is that the chefs personally take out time to visit each table and gather individual feedback about the dining experience. They mean business when you talk about the service industry. They are open to taking suggestion and are very warm to interact with. Just 5 star hotel things you see.
To my mind, it’s the best bar in Kolkata. The whole atmosphere is electrifying, gentle crowd without usual high decibel noise. Murgh malai tikkas were succulent and tasty. Vikram and Prabhat were attentive and excel in customer service. It’s a little pricey but all 5 star facilities are, so no surprise.
Grossly over priced thanks especially to the steep tax. Not the best service despite being Inner Circle member. Food options aren’t particularly varied.
Very impressed with the service and the attention paid to patrons and with a few of the dishes on the buffet spread at this lovely open style of restaurant as soon as you enter the Taj Bengal. Overall though the buffet was a tad disappointing but more than made up for by the wonderful staff.Would not mention all the dishes on the spread but like to point out the ones that were par excellence. These included the different types of teriyaki, the cooked bacon, the superbly succulent pieces of tenderloin, the paneer tikka, the pasta and specially prepared thin crust pepperoni pizza and the kala jamun on the sweet side. The downer being the non availability of Corona Beer. That apart a lovely afternoon at one of my old favourites.Cheers,
The weekday lunch is 1550+ taxes. The lunch comprises of all sort of continental, Mughal and Bengali dishes with desserts. They have a good portion of salad but I really don’t know why the salads are not really palate pleaser. The dessert section is full of desserts but when it comes to the taste only Indian malpoya and baked sweets were good. The cakes and fruits were not that good.I think they need to figure out that customer looks for the quality than quantity. Please stick to that Taj!
