One of the best place serving authentic Korean food, which is like little unfavorable to our Indian palate, but trust me i liked it and one should definitely try this cuisine once. In keeping with the Puja spirits in Kolkata, starting with the good things first.Ambience is perfect. Located inside the Rosedale Plaza in New Town, it looks like a bakery, with stacks of porcelain coffee cups beside the coffee machine, glass display of cinnamon breads, sausage rolls and Madeleine cookies, and a blackboard and chalk menu display.Drinks – five stars. The Dutch on the Rocks – soda over black coffee liquor (staff claimed it was home-made) is a combination I would not have thought very appealing, but it was outstanding! The Caramel Macchiato was pretty perfect too – and full marks for presentation, in tall glasses with long spoons.Food, however, leaves a lot to be desired.Ordered the Korean Egg Noodles with added chicken. It was an elaborate item on the menu – taking up three lines in description. In reality, it was a largeish bowl of soupy instant noodles, with an egg beaten in and some boiled chicken thrown in. Noticed Korean Cup Noodles for sale over the counter – pretty sure it was the same thing. It did not taste horrible or anything, but if I wanted to have Wai Wai with vegetables and chicken, I would not spend 310 bucks in a cafe, I would just make myself a steaming bowl at home, or I would just go to a roadside food stall and buy myself a plate for 40 bucks. Also ordered a Cajun chicken salad for a similarly obnoxious amount, and it was just some lettuce and shredded carrots and diced cucumbers thrown in with 4-5 fried chicken strips, and some honey mustard sauce and peanuts on top. A Subway salad costs less than this, and is far more wholesome and filling.Have not tried the actual bakery or confectionery items, so would not pass a very negative judgement, especially since the coffee was genuinely good. Maybe just stick to being a bakery, and not try to be a South Asian cafe?
