Punjabi food festival is going on at Cafe Treat. We opted for lunch buffet which cost 930+tax.Coming to the food, every item tasted good. Some were delicious.I liked the lamb preparation most. And every dish was lesat spicy. That’s why the buffet was praise-worthy.But there were some cons. They provided only two starters at this price segment. In main course veg options were adequate but nonveg options were very limited.Besides only the lamb tasted really good.Chicken and fish were not cooked in punjabi style and tasted okay.Dessert section also lacked variety. steamed rice and jeera rice-Both the rice lacked proper boiling. The staffs were courteous and helping. They provided complementary mocktail and sweet lassi.

Punjabi cuisine is an amalgamation of foods of three communities — Sindhis, Punjabis and Muslims. This means that the spices used in Punjabi food are a cocktail of cultures. Its basically divided into the Doab and Malwa regions, offers varied cuisine. The Doab region which contributes to a bulk of the Punjabi culture, including the Pakistani stretch, brings to the table a unique blend of spices and taste to its dishes.Meat lovers, go straight for the Kukkad De Dhabe that miraculously fills you up with no ‘guilty’ aftermath, thankfully. For the spicy daredevils, tryout the Rara Gosht, an addictive combination that will leave you scraping the bowl. Also, enjoy the uber juicy Patiwala Murgh Tikka that’s done perfect while sporting a crisp outer layer, and balanced with marinated spices and coriander dip — the perfect partner for a Beer or two. Next came a rebound in the form of Dhabewali Murgh Masala surrounded with bright and earthy flavors: garam masala, ginger, and lemon accented sauce of puréed dehydrated tomatoes. The star of the plate, though flavourful, juicy and soft chicken leg pieces; the taste was incredibly fresh and spicy.Patiwala Sahi Gosht was soft, spicy and smoky, prepared with blend of aromatic spices and herbs, and then slow cooked in onion and tomato gravy for an umami punch. Patiwala Sahi Gosht, might require a temporary break from that diet of yours. The incredibly tender chunks of meat with a slight melt-in-your-mouth fat will leave you helpless!
