Sweet shops in Baguiati lack the authenticity and taste of the popular and well known sweets of Bengal. This shop never focuses on quality and never listens to customers as well.I would be highly obliged if they improve their quality.
This sweet shop is located near baguiati bus stop. Though this shop does not have a huge brand name yet it’s very popular among locals and has a very loyal customer base. The sweets they offer are of good quality. Their norom paaker sondesh and pantua(gulab jamun) are very close to my heart. This sweet shop has one added feature which is the kulfi counter which serves delicious chopped kulfi with faluda on top. The sweets come at a very reasonable price which is a plus. Although this area has many other sweet shops yet this shop is standing tall.
Ordered Chilly Paneer and Kadhai Paneer. Found them to be quite ordinary especially Chilly Paneer which lacked very much in taste. Significant improvements needed to elevate the taste.
A fabulous sweet corner with sweets available at a reasonable price. The kulfi has been reinvented here to bear a close resemblance of it’s falooda cousin.
Definitely cannot be compared to the level of Haldiram’s or Bhikharam, but over the years Sarathi has its own trend of sweets that makes a special place in the hearts of Bengalis of Baguiati and near about. The mishti doi comes with a unique essence that makes one crave for more. The veg outlet has a good range of dishes too – special mentions for Malai Kofta and Paneer platters. But the price as per the quantity is a bit much, kindly look into it. Good Luck.
Sarathi has set up a bench mark of quality sweetmeat shop in Keshtopur and Baguihati area with its quality of sweets and service. I think they are the first to break from the typical Paraar Mishtir Dokan concept and serve different and latest varieties of sweetmeats. They also undertake party orders and serve kachoris, samosa, mishti Doi, Tok doi and other savouries which you generally get in a sweet shop in Kolkata. i love their Kalakand and kheer kodom and can vouch for their rosogollas.
no onion and chilli sauce
